Why is it in practically every spy movie, satire or not, does the villian hold the world for a money ransom?
If they can threaten the world on such a scale, why don't they just obliterate anyone who doesn't give them something, like a new super-comfortable and fast limo for the villian?

Because those movies are written lefthanded by chimpanzees? And in the satire you make satire of those bad movies which means that you have to keep this feuture, simple as that.:P

Because the world can afford more stuff than individual people. Duh!
Besides, what if your Uber Killy Nuclear Shark Destroyer Star Coruscation simply can't kill just one dude? What if it has two settings, "destroy world" and "off"?
Although that does bring up the question of how does the crazy villian live in the then nuclear-shark'ed world afterwords.
