Heart attack at 41.
Yeesh.
I remember watching him when I was going to weekly baseball games at the Astrodome. I remember his rookie season and remember him being a great asset to the Astros.
I continued to watch his career, seeing him play with a torn rotator cuff in his shoulder and still winning the NL MVP trophy by unanimous vote!
I'd hoped he would have overcome his addictions and such, but I guess in the end it got the better of him.
Nonetheless, he was a great player. He'll be missed.
