This is a companion thread to one for Kerry haters. I'm just interested to see who scares you more on the ticket.

That's a tough one. I mean, Cheney certainly seems to be the power behind the throne, but after four years of being Preznit, Bush might do something stupid just to show he can, 'cuz he be de Preznit. I'll have to think about it.

Cheney.

You see, Bush made a pact with a demon to become president.

Who do you think that demon was? xD

an amiable idiot on a mission from god corrupted by power and missing the booze more each day, or an evil manipulator finally risen to the level of his incompetence... heck its enough to make you vote for the metrosexuals... a clockwork gutted parody of jfk carved out of driftwood and an ambuliance chancing clothes horse with a stepford husbands smile.

If you don't like bush, you must like dick. Unless you're asexual, right?

From what I've read about Dick Cheney, he's quite competent and a bit more liberal than George W. Bush (Cheney apparently supports same-sex marriage for one), while Bush is just, well, stupid and too conservative. Mind you, both used phony logic to invade Iraq so I'm not too sure if Cheney is at all that much better than Bush.

cheney is more liberal on matters of sexual orientation for personal reasons, overall his record in congress and for advocating policy in various administration is extremely conservative and hawkish.

Well, it's certainly better than Bush, who wants to use the Constitution to ban gay marriage. Cheney may not be much more liberal than Bush is, but he's still technically more liberal, that's why I like him a bit more than Bush.

Karl Rove is who scares me!

Who?

Who?

George W. Bush's closest friend, apparently, and Bush's top strategist. Known for employing many dirty tricks during the campaign trail (e.g.- Rove apparently hemmed and hawed when the Al Gore camp received a video of Bush preparing his debate speech, but Rove did not say a word when the Republicans did the exact same thing during the Ronald Reagen/Jimmy Carter election, a campaign he worked for).

for me it is not about have, fear, or individual personalities, but about harm, the policies that cause it and the avoidance of doing so.

while bush and cheney are both scarry in their own ways, it is mentality and perspective that supports not only them as individuals but promoties a kind of arbitrary blindness to the real causing of real harm that comes back to hurt everyone.

really the scarriest figures in their regeme is not the public faces of it but their behind the scenes string pullers, and i'm not talking about some vague conspiracy here, but in this case specificly donald rumsfield and karl rove.

no one even got to vote for either of THEM, yet it is THEY who are the real movers and shakers and string pullers who are actualy setting american policy. bush is just their poster boy and cheney a defacto greedy opportunist. not that they haven't wreeked great havoc in their own right nor promoted policies that do so. but it is the likes of karl rove and donald rumsfield and the off the wall insanity they represnt that has earned the bush and cheney regeme the dubious reputation of having done more to make this world a more brutal and dangerous place then anyone since hitler.

it is only by removing bush and cheney from public office though that we can get rid of the karl rove's and donald rumsfield's actualy running things.

i do not know what kerry and edwards will bring (except that they have a 180% better track record on environment and labour then bush and cheney), but at least i'm pretty sure they won't be keeping rumsfield and rove.
