Yankees win ALCS as the BoSox can't beat them. 6 game series

Astros beat Cards in 7 games. Clemens and Pettite get hot as usual in October. Carlos Beltran hits some key homers.

The Yankees lose to their two old pitchers they lost. The Yanks have problems with the staff. Kevin Brown is injured. Mussina isn't that great. And ELo sucks balls. (makes you wish you had Jose Contreras, but my White Sox have him and you're stuck with Esteban).

Outside of Mariano Rivera the Yankees can't pitch.

Having been an Astros fan since I was 5 (1967, what can I say, I am an old fart), I have no choice but to beg the baseball gods for just one World Series....preferably a win, but I will accept just getting there!

Sadly, I think the Red Sox curse will continue, and St. Louis is probably going to win the Series

But I will hope anyway for a Sox vs Astros series and either team can win as far as I am concerned

Just wanted to point out a couple problems with your post. First, it will be tough for Pettitte to get hot in October unless the air conditioning in his Houston home goes out. He's done for the year with arm problems.

Kevin Brown's injury is to his non-pitching hand and didn't seem to bother him against the Twins. He does need to worry about inconsistency though, as he hasn't really had a chance to find his rhythm yet.

Mike Mussina is as tough as just about anyone out there when healthy (which he finally is). Tonight's game showed what that guy can do.

Nothing makes me wish NY had Contreras throwing for them in a big game. Pressure does funny things to that guy's psyche and he isn't the pitcher that his stuff should allow him to be.

Hopefully I have shown that outside of Rivera, the Yankees can pitch. They don't have the arms of the past, but they're not exactly garbage.

That being said, I still think the BoSox are going to win the series in six games. That offense can wear pitchers down, they have improved defense, the Yankees struggle against Wakefield, Pedro is due, etc.

With the Toronto Blue Jays gone (was that really a surprise?), I'm hoping for the Boston Red Sox. At some point that curse has got to give.
