I think this forum should be renamed, Mods. I've only been posting here for a month or two, and I'm already struggling to find a discussion that is interesting enough to join. Not because the members are unintelligent. Quite the contrary. The reason is the same tired questions are hashed and rehashed over and over again.

If this is truly a general forum, then why are all threads the same? The only thing that changes is the perspective or the title, but the arguments remain those that were here yesterday.

So, I would like to pose this question to you:

If you had to avoid the contemporary issues that are always beaten to death on this forum, and just talk....what would you talk about? No debate...no bashing...just talking. What would it be about, and do you think you could do it???

Why not extend this one further? Let's have a contest, and see if this forum can go 24 hours without posting in a Bush/Kerry thread. I bet half the forum members would shrivel up and die.

Oh come on. People are repetitive and argumentative no matter what they talk about. There would probably be a whole lot more flirtation going on without all the politics. Remember though, that this is a politically-themed forum based on a political-economic simulator.

It's just that we have four or five going on right now, all basically variations of: "Bush was wired during debates!"
"Bush si a iliterite!"
"Kerry wants to take away Bibles!"
"Libertarians are people too!"
It just gets really tedious.

Well we had those ask a... threads some weeks ago, but that guy myrth said that they were too many and too boring, (and after creating one himself) he locked all the threads. In my thread we clairified issues like: how is life in Sweden, do details in the swedish-danish fight matter as long as we (Sweden) beat them in sports, and we grasped the issue about the numeuros swedish suicides. So an answer to your question: Is there any possibility that you can have a thread that doesn't contain:
bashing
flaming
politics
porn?
is, aboslutely NO! If you start one some angry mod will tell you that they are tedious, countless and doesn't have any substance (and thus no right to exist). How long time will it take until this little friebdly thread gets locked?

Threads move so fast, I leave for a day, and the gay marriage debate I was in 5 pages back. But by then a few more have sprung up on the first page.

It doesn't bother me too much, the more I debate the better I get at it.

What should be talked about that's new? Assisted suicide maybe? Devil worship? Why slavery was so bad in English America but not in Spanish America? America's foreign policy in general is vague enough to stay new with the flow of time. Would these be suitable? I think the same issues are discussed over and over again is that they are whats important! Even if no resolution is possible.

Is there any possibility that you can have a thread that doesn't contain:

I'm tired of talking elections too. Not because I don't care, I care more then most people because I am way too affected for my own good. Sad thing is, I'm not American so there is not a bloody thing I can do about it but hope, and is there anything more hopeless then that mates? I like dolphins, they kick ass. I worry for the envioronment, I think I'm a mild hippy, it's not my fault I like nature more then economy, it's not my fault that I think we should adopt a society like the ones of our long suffering Native Canadians. I'm 1/32 Native, so I will deem them my people. Wouldn't it be nice if life were like that? If I could just say "alright, I spent a month in Greece, and hence my life blood is inevitably tied to the nostics of the golden age of mankind" or "Hey, I once went shopping in Buffalo, that makes me an elegable voter in the Kerry/ bush election" You know what I mean? And why are we so subjective anyway? the presedent is the leader of the FREE WORLD, we should all be allowed to vote. Not that I'm 18 yet or anything... but you know, soon. Hey, I'm 16, but I keep on top of my Currents, that's more then can be said for a lot of 69 year olds out there. I don't disrespect the elderly. It think they are the great teachers of our past. We had such a great country before free trade. Then they ate us up and all we ever do is search for a culture we arn't even sure exists.
