Why do republicans say that someone who is liberal hates america? For example Kerry and Moore. Clearly they don't...

No, they say some liberals hate america. And that is true. Moore does though. He hates everyone. Fat pig.

Moore may be a dick, but I sincerely doubt he hates America. Besides, I'm sure there's some conservatives out there who hate America too :)

Eh, Michael Moore represents no one but himself. Sad though, he used to be funny. Now he's become a caricature of himself, much like Anne Coulter.

For the exact same reason that some liberals say republicans hate the poor and gay people. They're using broad political stereotypes.

While what liberals want to do to America is deplorable, that doesn't mean they don't love it.

No, that is false; they just disagree with America and have every right to do so under the Bill of Rights.

I don't think any of the Liberals actually hate the US, including Moore, niether do any of the Conservatives. I think they believe they are doing what is best for America and that the "Other Guys" (be they conservative or liberal) are misguided.

Yep, no doubt about it, Moore's a fat dick. And yes there are "conservatives" out there that hate america. I've met a few. The difference maybe is though, that at the end of the day these conservatives aren't really conservatives by today's definition, they are mostly just racist dickheads who think that america is run by the jews or something. So even though many would call them "conservative" there own views sort of disqualify them from being so.

I'm sure there are some who hate america for not being conservative enough though.

I think its a little different for liberals, because in reality if you look arounf the world there are so many other countries they can pretend are better, so they have, in other words, more choice in the america hating stakes if that's the way they want to feel.

I don't think John Kerry hates america, I just don't like his politics. Reasonable people can differ about how best to run a country that's okay. A lot of his supporters - at least the vocal ones - seem not to be reasonable however, and are supporting kerry just because he is not bush. In this subgroup there are some real america haters, no-doubt about it. I have the feeling that if he wins they are actually going to be quite disappointed when they find out how little he differs from bush (when compared to them).

Moore does hate america though, he said so in france or something, and in bowling for columbine. He always talks about it as the most evil nation in the history of the world.

WTF? Liberals are a big part of the government (second only to conservatives), at least they were the last time I checked who makes up the Senate and House. So they hate themselves?
Besides aren't the liberals the ones conservatives accuse of creating huge goverment beaurocracies? I would think the liberals would be giving goverment big hugs and kisses.

Let me rewrite the orginal post to make a point:

Why do ALL republicans say that ALL liberals hate america?

See a problem yet? S/he's using the same broad brush that s/he's complaining about.

I've not run across anyone saying that Kerry hates America. However, I do know a lot of people who point out that Kerry's campaign speeches show he's of the liberal school of thought that says America is usually wrong, first and foremost.

Moore, on the other hand, has been very vocal about how stupid and lazy America and Americans are. He's stated numerous times (always on foreign soil, never in the US) that he despises the country and its people. He's even gone as far to wish for a US defeat in Iraq. I believe we can easily classify that as "hating America".

If conservatives had their way, abortion would be illegal. Does that sound like small government to you?

Besides, advocates of dictatorship want small government (one dictator).

Suprisingly, not all consevatives want to outlaw abortion. The majority do though so that's what gives this impression of conservative=pro-life. Nearly all conservative candidates fall into the pro-life group though.

Yes, Moore really, truly does. And as far as Kerry is concerned, its for the same reason liberals say that Bush hates America. It's all politics.

There's plenty of Bush supporters who are completely unreasonable, too. Where you fall on the spectrum has no correlation with how reasonable you are.

I like America for what it could be. But I hate because too many people do not even know basic geography or history for crying out loud.
Aldeemah-Ruhl

Not knowing geography/history is a worldwide trait. Studies done in Britain, France and other supposedly superior countries show them performing the same as or worse than the US.

Third world countries, of course, fare even worse.

Won't say your wrong there. I just didn't mention them because the question was about why republicans say lwhatever about liberals.

Actually it does somewhat raise the issue though that, since usually the most vocal supporters of candidates are usually the most unreasonable and who are driven more by hatred of the other guy then their support of their "own" candidate, all polical discourse seems to degenerate into bushsuxs, kerrysuxs and defending sometimes completely indefensible actions for purely partisan reasons. Somewhere amongst that, real conversation about policy and issues get lost in the noise for the most part. Face it, we know more about those two clown's service thirty years ago than we actually do about their policies for the next four years, because people are so intent on proving that one is a saint and the other is a sinner without really believing in what either stands for. It really has become a case of "my guy is the least worst because in the past he was ......(fill in the blank)."

It's a shame, it sometimes seems to me that we are now defined by the candidates instead of it being we who defines them. Another sad part of this is that it often seems that we have lost the ability to actually make up our own minds about policy and its consequences, and rather just end up parroting talking points.

I blame the schools myself. ;)
