Sinclair Broadcast Group To Run Anti-Kerry Smear

CBS announced last night that Sinclair Broadcast Group, a powerful media conglomerate with access to millions of American television sets, is going to run an Anti-Kerry "documentary" called, "Stolen Honor: Wounds That Never Heal".

This is outrageous for several reasons, not the least of which is that it is politically motivated. Sinclair's top executive is a heavy-duty Bush campaign donor and cheerleader...indeed, he has contributed the maximum amount of money to the Bush campaign allowed by law. Sinclair is rapidly gaining a reputation as the "new Fox News" with a history of conservative activism. (Back in April Sinclair used its' power to crush a broadcast of "Nightline" where Ted Koppel read aloud the names of the soldiers killed in Iraq, claiming it was a political message disguised as news.) That, along with the fact that it is being run in primarily swing states, and the fact that it is going to be run just before the election, makes Sinclair's motives highly suspect. Am I to believe that this is all merely coincidence?

Although I have no evidence to support my claim, I highly suspect that Sinclair (just like the Swift Boat Veterans For Truth) is a Karl Rove proxy. This is a disgrace to American journalism...the mass media giants should not use their clout to advocate any particular political agenda. Sinclair is trying to shield Bush from critical but genuine reporting of his policies while endorsing lies and attack smears against Senator Kerry. I urge my fellow Americans to contact the Sinclair Broadcast Group and protest the showing of this program (http://www.sbgi.net/).
