Fugazi - Burning Too

Anytime but now
Anywhere but here
Anyone but me
I've got to think about my own life
We are consumed by society
We are obsessed with variety
We are all filled with anxiety that this world would not survive
We gotta put it out the sky is burning
We gotta put it out the water's burning
We gotta put it out the earth is burning
Outrage!
But then they say...
Anytime but now
Anywhere but here
Anyone but me
I've got to think about my own life
The world is not our facility
We have a responsibility
To use our abilities to keep this place alive
Right here right now
Do it. Now. Do it.

Hands up if you saw them when they were touring on the back of the 'Margin Walker' mini-LP. :P

Bonus points if you know which UK band released a split LP called 'Margarine Walker'.

I have seen them twice but it wasn't that long ago. You win.

Margarine Walker?

Shit...I know this one. Was the split with "Thatcher On Drugs" (or something)?

Well, they released the songs which comprised their side of the split.

I thought they were amazing when I saw them in '89 and '90, but haven't been overly impressed by them live since then.

Yup - Wat Tyler/Thatcher On Acid. Have a punk point.

Well both times I saw them were the 2 best gigs I've ever been to. They must have played about 50 songs each time. At least i'm one up on their whole generation of fans who will never get to see them live.

Thank you for the punk point. I now have two.

Eh? You sound as if they have split up - I was under the impression that they were just taking a break from touring and releasing (studio) records.

I don't think they'll be coming back to Australia regardless.

Why? They played all manner of venues in Australia in the past - I don't see any reason why they won't be touring again using their usual methodology after they've had a break.

EDIT; 'played' not 'blamed'.

Yeah, they say that but I'm not optimistic. Besides, The Argument is easily their best work. Would be good to go out on a high.

Also, I'm assuming they'll get plenty of new fans even after they go their ways.
