Hi. I'm a Swiss and American citizen and I think I can help you out here. Geneva is an extremely beautiful city but mind you it is highly liberal and religious. Two things that piss me off. Anyways, lots of history in Geneva just like the rest of Switzerland. It is an extremely beautiful country and I highly recommend visiting, and if you do I suggest the cities of Bern, Zurich, Fribourg and Altdorf. My family originates from Bern and Fribourg and I have been to both of them on numerous occasions. Nice quiet little country with a chance to relax although the Swiss aren't very keen on foreigners so don't expect any special treatment. Go to Switzerland, you'll love it.

i flew into zurich, took the train to geneva, then the bus to megeve in the french alps. it was strange, when i got on the train in zurich everyone was speaking german, by the time we got to geneva, a few hours later, everyone was speaking french.

it was the last week of april 2003

geneva is a beautiful city. everything i saw along the way was worth seeing. i want to go back and take a real vacation in switzerland. i did read that geneva is a straightlaced boring city so if you are looking for a wild time its probably not the best choice. if you like scenery, history, outdoor stuff, its way worth going to

i found everyone to be pleasant and helpful if asked.

there is an amazing amount of graffitti along the rail lines.

I've been to lugano and luzern, and must say of all my travelling I consider switzerland the greatest country in the world. Hands down the most beautiful place on earth, with good government and good, educated intelligent people.

Also, they have nifty money :p

I plan to die a swiss citizen.

I was in switzerland for a few days 8 years go when I was on a bus tour starting in Rome, circling up around through switzerland back down the eastern coast and back into Rome again. I can't remember heaps about it except there were a lot of mountains, a lot of tunnels and its a rather nice looking place.
