Just as a suggestion, this would make excellent reading for virtually everyone on this board:
http://datanation.com/fallacies/index.htm

Only moderators can make stickies. Else chaos would ensue.

i think the mods might have to do it, but i'm not sure...i just would love to see something like this put right up there with forum rules.

Oh. Ok. It's almost "chaos" now! I can only try to imagine! LOL!

As would I.

If anyone could make stickies, many (immature posters) would just do that instead of bumping.

very true.
i just hope there's a mod who is as sick of people using the slippery-slope falacy as i am, because then we'll get this stickied for sure.

Heh, this website is going to be the death of all debate on NS.
Quick, someone figure out the fallacy of that statement.

here, let me try:
because somebody was allowed to post a website that shows how certain arguments are falacies, we now must allow all websites of all kinds to be posted, with no restrictions! if we don't stop this website from being linked, we'll end up with porno-sites being linked! THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!
or how about:
everybody should support freedom and my right to post falacious arguments. don't you support freedom? well, then you must support my falacios arguments!
or:
you had better not read that website, because if you do then you will start criticizing other people's arguments and nobody around here will like you.
ahhh, General Forum...debate teachers should use this site to get examples of what NOT to do, in order to teach their classes how to avoid falacies.

Actually, I was going with the idea that just because all these logical fallacies are pointed out, that doesn't mean they won't still be used en masse, and therefore my conclusion that this website will cause the death of debate here does not follow. But I like yours too.

POST HOC because it sounds like making an important statement after you spit -- VERY dramatic
and AMPHIBOLY. i couldnt figure out what it meant but it sounds kinda nasty!
