Bush arguing at 2nd debate

Does anyone else think that it's very unpresidential to argue with the person who ran the 2nd debate like Bush did? Just something I noticed.

Bush is a very unpresidential figure. He lost his cool more than a couple times.

Bush is a clown. The way he talks (or squeals.. whatever) is annoying. When he cries in his high-pitched and snarling voice, I'd sometimes like to rip his head off.

I really thought Bush was a lot more polite and well-mannered than what I saw last night; I sat here, with my friends, astounded at what happened.

In many ways he has succumbed to ovalitis- he has been in office for so long and only heard supporting opinions to the point where he has lost debating skills and likely has not heard such criticism until the debates actually came about. This is the first time in four years someone has questioned him so directly to his face.
Or at least, that is one opinion on why Bush has been performing so badly at the debates.

Personally I liked Bush's attitude. Kerry was like a windup doll. Wind him up and he goes into high gear lawyer speak. People that are accusing Bush of being unpresidential are the same people who thought it was neat that Bill Clinton was getting a hummer in the oval office from a subordinate.

Clinton's blowjob was unpresidential, but it was neat anyway :p

Did you just make an RL Stien reference to battle a non-sequitar? Sweet.

No one (except the guy making the joke above) thought it was 'neat' that Clinton got a blowjob. There where people who thought maybe it was not worth $10 Million to find out about it. Not to mention that the shortcomings of one president cannot be used as an excuse for another. ("U.S. Grant did these things wrong, so I can do all kinds of crazy crap....") I know people are wrapped up in the down-homey charm thing, which is great from the guy you buy a side of beef from, but crazy me-I like having someone who is able to articulate his (or her) ideas.

and the "what are John Kerry's ideas" response in 3, 2, 1.....

( shrug ) If he hadn't, you would have called him "weak" and "a loser." Nothing he could say or do would change your mind, so why even bring it up?

Why was he a loser and weak before acting that way?

See, now you're projecting. Those are the names that the right likes to throw around.
There is plenty he could say that would better my opinion of him. He could admit he made a mistake in Iraq, and seek UN support. He could raise taxes for the rich. He could come out in support of gay marriage. His IQ could miraculously move into triple digits.
Debates do change some peoples' minds, as is reflected in polls.

Bush did do a lot better last night than he did in the first debate. Before, he just ran out of steam. This time he had so much steam that he attempted to override the moderator, which might be a little too much steam, but at least he gave a semi competent impression. He didn't stumble as much.
On the other hand, he lied more. A lot more. I'm not sure how that translates into the polls, but for me it is an overall minus for Bush. Not that I was undecided.

You like the fact that he loses his cool when it counts?

the one that experts have decided was a landslide victory for Kerry. the one in which Bush was caught in a blatant lie ("wood" hehehe). the one in which Bush lost his temper and ranted over the moderator, and was unable to control his temper with Kerry's solid hits.

i don't like Kerry much, but i was hugely impressed by his debate abilities. he made better use of the time alotted, he had great closing lines for each segment of his performance, he used the space in the forum better, he remembered the names of the questioners and made better contact with the audience, and he continually underscored the mistake Bush makes when he tries to reduce complex issues to soundbite answers. Kerry dominated, even more so than in the first debate.

The 2nd presidential debate. And Bush sucked, as usual. I can't stand his face, his voice, his view on how the world should run... he is, to make it short, a worthless piece of shit.
