I've decided to find out what Kind of thread interests people most. Before or after your vote try and post your reasons for voting that way or post suggestions for how these threads could be better.

well, obviosly this isn't a very popular type of thread...remind me not to do this again. :(

Can I remind people to post their reasons for why they voted that way? We need to keep this thread alive.

If you voted other tell me what that other option is.

I prefer threads with irrelevant topics, that have nothing to do with politics, warfare (unless in a strictly historic sense that's not about WW2), or civil rights issues. Those threads including these "real" issues tend to degenerate very quickly, but for some reason they make up the majority of threads, as near as I can tell. Where's the thread about ham sandwiches? (I love ham sandwiches more than taffy, and I'm a man who loves his taffy.... ohh... oh yeah.)

I voted for ones with polls, because I come from such liberal, left-wing areas that it's really hard for me to understand the opinions of the populace at large, adn I'm always curious to see where a group of (mostly reasonable) people stand on issues.

Well, I usually either go for gay rights or polls. I picked polls.

OK, so you're saying we should get threads that have nothing to do with politics, warfare, issues. You want a topic about anything.

I like joke threads (either threads with jokes, or threads that are themselves jokes - or at least not "serious" like all the political sewage floating around here) and threads that actually make me think a bit, such as philosophical discussions (beyond political or the typical economic debates), obscure science news, and the like.

Maybe I should have allowed people to pick multiple options...

Joke threads...now that's one I should have included in the polls.

In General, I almost always only post in political and religious debates, but I do read some other stuff and I like polls. Threads like this can be interesting:
I am right!
No, I am!
I hate democrats!
I hate republicans!
I put you on ignore!
I hate you personally!
I can't hear you!
I still hate you!
Threads like this are nice:
I am right. [Facts go here]
What do you have to say about [other facts], then?
Well...[more facts]
But...[more facts]
These can be annoying.
[Fact attack!]
I hate you. [Personal attacks and misinformation on the topic at hand]
But can you prove my facts wrong?
I hate you. You kill babies.
Here are some more facts...[more facts]
*Repeats self*
[This continues for a while.]
So we finally agree?
Sort of.
Let's stop arguing, then.
Okay.
[A new person enters the arena armed with...Personal attacks and misinformation on the topic at hand!]

If I'm to look at a thread, I'll just pick one form the choices on my left-computer (Cause I'm left-winged like that :p). Anyway...Yeah...So...About ham sandwiches...I don't think I love 'em cuz I can't eat 'em... That should narrow down my religion to you guys...Now for an emoticon to add on to the way people think of us ----------------------->> :sniper: <<--------------- btw...that means Muslim if you didn't catch. Tu est trop bete si tu ne comprend pas l'emoticon...

by the looks of it gay rights threads are about to die out, and political and joke threads are always popular.
keep voting!

Well, if you want to put it like that, yeah. On a side note, I have to urge Socialistic Socialists to convert to another religion for his/her own good. You really don't know what you're missing with ham.. really!

I'm a big fan of philosphical threads/debates... abortion, gay rights, evolution, etc.

Threads about the politics of my country (Australia) interest me also, because they're rare :p.

Threads about Australian politics aren't rare at the moment because of the elections. Sadly it seems that the coalition is going to win...

Threads by people I recognise and threads with few responses generally get my response quicker. I can't usually be bothered reading through 3 pages of replies to get into a thread.

I prefer a thread that makes me laugh - namely threads w/1337 in them or some joke/spam topic
Krikaroo

Ok, now it looks like no matter what thread it is people would randomly select it at least, though joke threads increase the chances of it being selected.

I also like threads that are just laid back, not arguing all the time about "You Commie Bastard!" or "America is evil". Just threads where we all just hang out here and have a good time and go with the purpose of NS. Our own personal nations in order to escape the real world.
