About 25,000, I would suspect. I voted for 25-50k though calculating $500/week.

That's just my stepdad's little independent business though. If my mom can find a part time job after my sister starts kindergarten, and if I can get 15 hours a week or so soon, it should come up a bit.

The economy still needs to turn around, my mom, dad, and step mom all got new jobs within a 2 month period. I live in Massachusetts though, and everything costs more.

As a sort of security consultant business owner, I get to do a lot of interesting work (counter-terrorism consultant, private investigation, corporate theft, insurance fraud, armed escorts, etc.), and are paid quite well. Let's just say I'm one of those people who John Kerry wants to rollback the tax on.

Plus I get to have a great secretary! (http://www.foolsgoldentertainment.com/steve/guido%20colored%20art/images/Dictation.jpg)

My stepmom makes between $150 and $200,000 Consultant for Mast Inc.

My mom makes between $50 and $85,000 Sales rep for GlaxoSmithKline

Well, I can make no such claims. As a disabled veteran ( 40% ), I get about $1,400.00 per month. It's tax free, so I can usually live on it, almost.

Sigh. I went through 2 tours in Vietnam, with rounds coming so close I could feel the shock-wave against my skin, only to almost kill my fool self in a military parachute jump gone bad ... in 1996, when I was 53 years old. Shattered my right femur, broke my right foot, and wound up in a military hospital for three months the first time, 3 weeks the second time. :headbang:

Eh, I wasn't complaining. I haven't looked for a job seriously yet since most people won't hire a 14 year old even when the economy is good, and my mom is jobless by choice so she can take care of my sis. And my stepdad doesn't have to worry about getting fired because he's his own boss... he he he. We're actually in a pretty sweet situation here - we're making enough and we've got two more people's potential.

Unless you're using some other unit of currency or support about ten other people or are mortgaging a condo in NYC, I'm offended! You make $125k and you "really struggle"? WTF are you spending your money on? My family has 4 people and we do just fine on one-fifth of that, even eating organic.

Sounds almost like money is no longer a motivator for you either, Mr. Fawlty. I discovered long ago that if I have food to eat, clothes to wear, a roof over my head, and some way to occupy my mind I could live without the rest. I evny you your view though! :)

In all honesty, I don't think I'll ever need to earn more than about £15,000 per annum. Nothing I do (Think, talk, write, draw) costs much. The greatest non-essential expense in my life is my broadband bill. Why bother earning more, when I don't need it?

I'm sixteen and work at Tim Hortons (its a major Canadian coffee chain), so I only get paid ten cents more than minimum wage...7.25 an hour. Of course, I only work weekends. But as for rich people playing NS, I used to play a game called Neveron and we had a millionaire there, and in Neveron there was a donation system where you gave in money and you got units or Nev money or technology etc. He started to get kind of bored with the game, so he donated 17k (he donated many other times, and gave in computer parts and servers also to help out) and declared himself the lord of Neveron and got himself a small army of other players and made people pay him tax....ah, those were good times lol.

I live with my retired mother, aunt and grandmother and they are all on some sort of pension (retirement, disability and verteran/old age, respectively).

I am working at a McDonalds for minimum wage ($6.50/hr) but hey, at least I get plenty of hours ^^. I'm currently using my McJob as a way to pay for college. I'm also hoping a bursary will come through for tuition.

I have a university degree and my college course is related to what I took in university. Lately though I've been having trouble finding my path in life and I'm wondering if I should really take the course. I really want to try acting out and I am writing a screenplay at this moment (I do have talent in writing. I'm not a flake.). I'm trying to find the 'happy place' and make plenty of cash at the same time and writing is doing this for me (well its in the 'happy' area, with any luck 'rich' will follow).

What would be really useful for me (and likely others) is to hear some success stories from the successful people that have posted here. How did you get to where you are? What did you do? Any suggestions? Words of advice? Biggest hurdles? Write all you want! :)

I think a lot of us here have 2 parents that work, NS is mostly people between 14-18, so their 2 parents would be working getting into mid-upper level management. NS members also tend to have computers and free time which means that they dont need to work and they have extra time.

Yes, donations are very nice. I donate 15% to my church charities, and another 8% to the Make a Wish Foundation and my local Second Harvest Food Bank. Every little bit given to charities helps. Besides the fiscal side, you feel good knowing what you have done. I usually don't declare my donations (on my taxes) as I think if you give something from the heart (Elvis syndrome) you don't need to get anything back for it. Yet people think I'm a selfish conservative.

I don't make a lot of money. I don't need a lot of money. If you guage your worth by the size of your bank account, then you are an empty shell.

I am a composer and a teacher (that's right, some teachers *can* do) and pull in about 35K. I own my land and my house, free and clear, grow most of my family's food and make a lot of our clothes.
