For how small the club actually is, they have a lot of people in high places...but that's part of the criteria for selecting new members...their potential. I don't think it's actually part of some conspiracy to take over the world or anything.

And they're at Yale, which is an elite school and produces an inordinately large number of powerful and connected people who come from powerful and connected families. The theories that pop up because of groups like Skull and Bones are based on correlation more than on causation.
well both kerry and bush were members of the skull and bones at Yale...so the next president will be a skull and bones person.
Personally, I think that the skull and bones won't engulf mankind but I do believe that they are extremely influential.
lol, posted at the same time, mentioning yale thing!

Yeah but most of their influence is behind the scenes, out of the public eye.

A lot of organisations have influence beyond the immediate.
Just because it's a Fraternity of some description doesn't make it any different from a Guild, Corporation or Government.

Was Clinton in S&B too? I don't remember, maybe he didn't even go to Yale, but I thought I had heard somewhere that he was a member.

I believe that if you are or were a member of this club like the 2 candidates in the united states. Very powerful and will look after it own first and foremost before anything at all. The people are second to the club. That's why some of the decisions were made the way they were made within the states through out bush's reign. He was protecting, working for or with his fellow members of the club.

Nope. Only three Presidents were members: William Howard Taft, George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush.

I imagine they are much the same as the other fraternities in this world. People like to think the worst about the Greek system without knowing anything about it.
As a former Chaplain and Treasurer of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, I feel confident in my opinions about Skull and Bones. If people want to think about the power and prestige of a secret society, they are barking up the wrong tree. The Freemasons are a much larger and more secretive group. And every city in this country has a building with a Freemason mark on it. Go take a look for yourselves. You'd be surprised once you pay attention to the markings.
Not that I'm saying there is anything malignant about them either though.
Oh, and for all you who are freaking out over secret societies, you do realize that the charter for each of these secret organizations are on file with the Library of Congress? The only one that was excluded by the mandatory revealing of charters by the US Congress is Lambda Chi Alpha, because the main person behind forcing the revelations was an alumni.
Of course, you'll never find them there. Hehehe. Us secret groups still have our secrets.
I don't really know enough about it to post anything real other that that the whole club really annoys me.

The Skull and Bones club controlls the US 2004 presidential election, so they must be at least somewhat evil.
