20 years ago women didn't have the vote but are nowadays considered equal. Do you think that in twenty years time, animals will have the vote?

I'd say to let the dolphins vote before the monkeys. The dolphins are the real brain on this earth.
I wouldn't be suprised if several animals voted Republican in the Florida election this year

Anyway in 20 years I expect we will have adopted true democracy in the one-man/one-vote sense, I just hope I am the one man who gets that vote.

Eventually, I think most apes/monkeys, pigs, dolphins, octopuses etc will at least be no longer considered food.
But chickens, sheep and cows will never be equal. They're just vapid.
Most molluscs, insects and so on will always be pure fodder.

yes. yes, i think they will be allowed to vote. and it's a good thing. we live on the same planet, we share the same problems and we should have an equal say on what's going on in this world.
let's all join hands (/paws/...)and vote together. forever. amen.

No but Dolphin's brains are the biggest in comparison to IQ. While Whales have big brains, they are too elistist to join the voting idea.
Whales already run the open. Whales started War World 2. You migh think impossible but next time you read up on it. :ook for pictures around water. You find them if you look closely. Whales have been shaping human history since 109 AD.
A few are Dolphins are part of a secret society dedicated to protecting our history.

Is that the one with the horse and that girl?
ACtually I do kinda sorta favor giving the vote to dolphins. I figure if you are going to draft a being you should at least give it the right to vote so it can have an impact on decisions to go to war or not.

I havn't read much of the thread but I noticed that many people were discussing what would be the first animal to vote. Although, if an animal (apart from humans) does end up voting it's not likely to happen within the next twenty years.

what? you honestly consider that animals will ever be allowed to vote? but?how? why would you think that?
I think your all crazy, how can anyone even think of the idea that dolphins will vote.I don't know many dolphins (and none I've spoken with, just nodding acquantances really) but I have heard that dolphins have a pretty crude sense of humour, I expect that is what would drive them to vote.
The question is should they have the right to even if they chose not exercise it. Let us not compllicate the issue by considering aquatic mammal turnout rates, this sort of argument could be used to justify disenfachising many groups with low election particpation.
