So things have gotten so bad that the only person they could find to award the peace prize to is a woman who has planted a lot of trees? Maybe they should rename it the Nobel Peace and Environment Prize.

well... they did have more than that to choose from: With a record 194 nominations, the committee had a broad field to choose from
and she didn't just plant 'a lot of trees', she
won the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for her work as leader of the Green Belt Movement, which has sought to empower women, improve the environment and fight corruption in Africa for almost 30 years.

I just thought it was odd....totally different direction.
