I'm sure there are many of you who feel like me, in thinking that most politicians suck. We need a celebrity to run for office. Which celebrity would you like to see run for president?
I think Ben Affleck should run, if only to save him from his string of bad movies.

Warren Beatty. Look at the films he's produced. He knows what's up and he has a conscience.
Oprah Winfrey. She's a billionaire on her own works, she doesn't need to be a corporate shill. She's benevolent in nature.

sean astin, definately. he's something like the highest citizen member of the democratic national party or something like that. despite the fact that i'm republican, and he's democrat, i think i'd vote for him. and not only because i love him as an actor, but i respect him as a fan and he's such a cool person politics wise, and from interviews and the way other actors and fans talk about him, he's extremely brilliant, which is something we need in a president. he has this thing about him. he tends to think things over. he could run for president in the next election, he'd be old enough then!
of course, he's already well ahead of us:

Yeah, on reflection having a President that on the basis of some very dubious reasoning and personal vendetta leads his followers into a bloody shambles from which they cannot extricate themselves would be something of a shock for the American people.

Can prisoners/convicts actually run for the Presidency in the US? - there has been at least one person serving a life sentence elected as an MP in the UK (Bobby Sands, by the way, in 1981, another - Philip Clarke - was disqualified in 1955 despite receiving a majority vote because the law then disallowed convicts from being elected).

Possibly he was actually refering to Charon, the boatman that takes lost souls across the river Styx, but I can't really follow the logic in this myself.

Was he officially on the ballot or was he a write-in and could he have actually been elected if he had beaten the opposition?

I would have to say Arnold. Why? Well, for a few reasons. Firstly, he's very popular with everyone, so no matter what he did, we'd still like him. Secondly, he's "skilled" in politics, which he proved when he became Govenor of California (although he did leave once the fires started). Lastly, we all know that if he invaded another country like Bush, he would be at the front lines with his heavy-artillary machine gun, blowing away the enemy and kicking ass.
Unfortunately, he can't be POTUS though, because he wasn't born in the USA.
Im not sure if anyone nomonated her but id like to see President Janine Garafalo

Mel Gibson is the greatest egomaniac narcissist of our time, he would rename the White House the Mel Gibson Memorial House and the washington monument the Mel Gibson Monument and the Lincoln Memorial "Temple of God's Anoited Favorite - Mel Gibson" and have his face put on mt rushmore and rename the Pentagon the Mel Gibson Military Headquarters and rename washington DC "Mel Gibson Town."
He would also put his face on all the money. Pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, half dollars, dollar coins, ones, twos, fives, tens, twenties, fifties, hundreds... all of em.
Also he's a mullah.
