"Teresa Urges Democrats to 'Vote Often'

'Vote early and vote often' has long been the Democrat establishment's slogan. Now, as the party cranks up its election fraud machine more zealously than ever before, Teresa Heinz Kerry has a slight update:

'Vote often and vote well.'

That's what the aspiring first lady said during a recent appearance in Minneapolis. When readers first alerted us, we found the claims too outrageous to believe, but we tracked down her quotation in the liberal St. Paul Pioneer Press.

There is one positive aspect to the appallingly cynical comment: At least she didn't say it in a Chicago cemetery."

I guess potential First Ladies aren't allowed to have a sense of humor. That explains Laura Bush then.

Do you have proof she meant it literally? Do you perhaps have a tape to see if she said it with a smile and was greeted with a laugh?

Perhaps she meant that Democrats should vote in all elections, rather than just in the presidential election. Most Democrats are incensed enough to vote in this election, but they may not get out and vote for their senators/congressmen, etc. etc. This is probably more what she was referring to.

Either way, however, it was powerfully stupid of her to phrase it the way she did.

I don't know how they do it in other parts of the country, but all of my candidates, issues, etc., are all in the same place on the same day on the same piece of paper (or video screen, depending on what precinct). If I go to vote for the president, it would be rather stupid to NOT vote for other offices, as they are right therre in front of me at the same time.

What's stupid about it is that it plays right into the urban legend (true or not) that democrats rampantly commit voter fraud (I believe the legend has it in Chicago... I haven't researched it yet, so I can't speak as to the veracity of it.) This legend has led to the phrase "vote early, vote often" used about democrats to reflect that they should get to the polls early, and come back often to vote as many times as possible, in a single election.

Right or wrong, her words played directly into that legend.

I'm hoping this has already been mentioned, but I will reiterate it just in case someone missed it:

"Vote early and Vote often" means to vote in more than just the one election every four years.

Don't just vote for President.

Vote for city council. Vote for mayor. Vote on bonds. Vote for state legislators. Vote for county officials. Vote on amendments. Vote for Congressmen.

Vote whenever you can, wherever you can. That's what it means.

An election can happen at any time. For instance, I know that I will vote on November 2nd in the general election to elect a President as well as congressmen and state legislators .... but I won't vote to elect the mayor of the town I live in until January.

So, it would make no sense for me to vote November 2nd, but then sit home eating pork rinds on the couch when the Mayoral comes up.

Remember, kids, if you don't like the guy at the top, don't let him get in at the bottom. Vote early, Vote often.
