Bush tapped the phone of French President

*I wonder if Bush is tapping all of our phones?

Book: U.S. Spied On Jacques Chriac
A new book published in France has accused the US of regularly spying on French President Jacques Chirac by tapping his phone. The book's title translated into English is "Chirac versus Bush, the Other War." One U.S. official reportedly told the authors, "The relationship between your president and ours is irreparable on the personal level. You have to understand that President Bush knows exactly what President Chirac thinks of him." The surveillance was possible because Chirac rarely uses secure phone lines. Last year British whistleblower Katherine Gun leaked internal documents that showed the US was spying on other nations in the Security Council in the lead up to the Iraq invasion. Former British minister Clare Short has also publicly said Tony Blair's government spied on UN Secretary General Kofi Annan at his UN headquarters in New York in the run-up to the Iraq war. The new book also charges that France was preparing to provide as many as 15,000 troops to the Iraq effort but didn't after relationships soured between the Bush administration and Chirac.

Wow. That took me 5 minutes to read, both surprisingly and sadly.

America would have no moral high-ground if it took action. It would have pretty much every prominent european and asian country against us. In addition, though american citizens wouldn't like having relations cut, they would be against starting a huge war. It would be 1812 with nukes.

My goodness, the conspiracy theories just keep popping up. Did you know Bill Clinton had political enemies of Hillary Clinton .. well let's just say they disappeared under "mysterious" circumstances.

John Kerry missed Senate Intelligence committee votes to quote "Have dinner early tonight."

Tom Daschle spies on the opponents (Native Americans) who dared to challenge his authority with illegal wire tapping.

I have Jesus in my back pocket.

Some of these are true. The last one is obvious, at least to me. I'm wearing sweats that don't have any pockets. HOWEVER, the original poster might be able to get a decent job working as a fact checker for Michael Moore, or on Howard Dean's reelection committee.

It is a well known fact that the US is spying like mad. There is that Echelon thing. I remember last year when they sold that boeing to the chinese president. They've found several tapes in the EU as well.

The American government, in theory, is just the peoples will. If America stays true to its democratic(republican) name, it won't do what the people don't want. If it unitairaly declares war on a bunch of 1st world countries over this, lets just say that vietnam was a cake-walk in protests.

The Swiss guard is protecting the Vaticans. You realy prove that you don´t now much about Europe, although you are a Canadian.
The Swiss were great warriors who fought as "contractors" especially during the 30-year-war (1618-48). The Swiss guard is a left-over of this time and protecting the Vaticans. They have funny uniforms.

So, Saddam was the leader of a Nation complying with UN sanctions at the time... It's greatest sin was using weapons sold to it by the Reagon Administration in a war that the US funded both sides of, and then invading a country that was slant drilling into their oil fields.

Compare that to Bush's Taleban connection http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/west_asia/37021.stm
