A Singaporean Says "GET RID OF BUSH"

As an outsider and a citizen of the world,I think I have the right to say to the American people,KICK BUSH OUT OF OFFICE!

-He is an imbecile, simple as that.He has ignored international laws, unilaterally carried out actions that have negatively affected millions, led a war on Afghanistan to avenge the loss of 3000 Americans, killing 10 000 Afghan civilians in the process.

-He has illegally declared war on a country that did not possess WMDs that were never there in the first place.Saddam did have WMDs,such as nerve gas,but he does not have them now. While the war did serve a greater good by removing a tyrant from power, and that I will not argue,it has lost legitimacy.Yet now,you want to pull out of Iraq, making it an even worse shit hole than it is now.Last year, after ignoring the UN,you went back to it to beg for help,to sort out the Iraqi mess.No matter what,America has to stay on in Iraq or it will be even worse.

-America has polarised the world. It has lost most of the respect under the Bush presidency. There is growing hatred of America in the Middle East due to a preception, whether true or not, that Israel is highyl favoured by America.World opinion from Europe to Asia,Africa to Australia,Australia to South America,it has turned against Bush due to his foreign policies.

-Personally,Kerry seems to be ambigous and unclear on many of his positions, possibly to keep the American electorate guessing. If anything,he seems a lesser evil than Bush.

If the world could vote,Kerry would win by a landslide, and I truly wish that the rest of the world could vote on who the American president was.I wish we could take away such a responsibility from the American people and give such a responsibility to the international community, which is cetainly more important than the American community anyday. That won't happen of course as it is only a wish.Bush has been given a responsibility that he has been shown unable to handle. It is time to let someone else have a go.I feel that in the 2000 elections, the American people certainly showed a lapse of judgement in electing Bush.I hope that they are up to the further responsibility of electing a better leader, someone like Clinton. No matter what he may have been like,he was a damned good statesman and president.

For the sake of the world, you Americans have been granted a privileged position to affect the world positively by electing a powerful president. Here is a proverb:"If you grant the person the power of a god,you had best hope they have the morals and intelligence of a god".America can be a force for good for the whole of the world, but it is certainly lacking in that department.
Let us hope that changes.

P.S.->Americans,if you understand what is good for you,you should best not try to fuck around in my country's section of the world,or carry out any pre-emptive actions in our sphere of influence,a warning that extends to the Australians. In the jungles of South East Asia did the Americans get mauled, and if you try any further nonsense with South East Asia, many widows and widowers will be made.Remember the Vietnam War,and remember that it was there that America was taught its lesson. The time of the Americans and Europeans is over. Now is the time of the Asia-Pacific,Eurasia and South America to rise.It is the Chinese and Indian century.

Interesting how you end the post with a threat.

We learned from our mistakes in Vietnam (well, some of us did. The peaceniks still carry on with the same tune). Next time we'll be sure to neutralize everyone, military and civilian, making no distinction between man, woman or child.

We did it with the Native Americans and can do it again.

Hmmm,let's see shall we....

a threat is sometimes necessary to get the message across.Get rid of Bush,be a good country and don't fuck around with South East Asia or we will be forced to teach Americans a lesson that will make the Vietnam War or the invasionand occupation of Iraq seem like a happy dream.

South East Asia is jungle and city. You will be engaged in jungle warfare, something that the America military s not good at.Give American troops a desert and they will excel, give tham a jungle and they will die.Same goes for cities.

Remember Stalingrad? The Americans will experience what the Germans experienced,in each and every major city of South East Asia.Same goes for Australia. If the Australians wish to play the part of deputy, they had damn well hope they go about right and respect us,and not violate our sovereignity.

I am just vehemently against John Howard of Australia and Bush of America saying that they will pre-emptively attack where and when they please. If you want to go and cut the grass, especially in someone elses backyard,do you go and jump over the fence and do it yourself,or do you go and ask them cut the grass for you?

If you are going into someone elses backyard, tell them first and give them a chanve to solve the problem before taking action. If they don't take action, then you can go and have a go at it.Just don't strike without warning, that's al.

Uh, if you're referring to allowing Iraq "solve the problem," we gave them nearly twelve years.

They had ample opportunity.

2 nuclear powers to the north and northwest of South East Asia.Use nukes and you give us free reign to use our own measures as well as give a clear signal to these nuclear powers that you are willing to use nukes in invading a country. Not a good idea.

What if the US just froze your dollar assets and then ignored you ? Its not like singapore has ever amounted to anything militarily. I seem to rember the US had to save you from japan at some point.

They can't because we have got reserves spread all over the place. We're like a bloody Hydra.Plus many nation wouldn't be happy, and Singapore has powerful allies in high places, which helps.(India,China,Japan,Britain,France,etc.)

Militarily,we have the strongest air force and navy in South East Asia, plus 8 divisions in the army meant simply for defence. It would take Malaysia,Indonesia and Thailand to defeat us.

Japan invaded us in World War 2 when we were a British colony. The Brits couldn't defend us even though we were their Crown Colony. That was over 60 years ago.Try that shit with us,and you'd sink.

Using tactical nuclear weapons, these powers would likely be less inclined to launch against the US.

Also, their own cities are not at stake so it's also possible that the MAD-doctrine would not come into play, since they would be sacrificing their own cities against tactical nuclear weapons that are not on their own soil.

So, if we do not get rid of Bush we will attack Asia? Or will the Asians attack us? I guarantee that if anyone attacked US soil it would be twenty times more difficult than Vietnam. The best airforce and army in Asia would crumble before the militia of rednecks with automatic weapons.

Singapore has a tiny military supported by approx 200,000 bufoonish reserves. Your closest military allies are New Zealand, Austalia and they UK, and they, Sir, I would suggest are the real backbone of your defense.

Singapore is also a tiny city state, with a population of approx 4.5 millions and a GDP of aroun b$110. Militarily it has no ability to project power beyond its own borders and, in the larger scheme of things, is insignificant. Its economy, while high per capita for an asian country, it tiny compared to its allies and many of its neighbors and its second largest trading partner (approx 15% of all overseas revenue) is the US.

What you are essentially proposing is that the US would ignore Singapore at its peril. I am suggesting that the US will not even be aware that it is ignoring Singapore. However, the US ignoring Singapore would have a devasting effect on the standard of living for the Singaporese.

Now desist with your sabre rattling nonsense sir! We all see through your bluff.

Children please! Stop thumping your chests and sit down!

...The whole stinking lot of you. Are you just having fun or are you actually this utterly irresponsible? Ilham, your opinions are well founded perhaps, but threats are not welcome, especially considering I doubt you speak for the official policy of your nation any more than I do for mine. We all know Singapore is a regional power, but projection and protection are two different things. At the same time, who the heck in the US even knows about Singapore? The last time your nation was featured in the news some loser from the US was getting paddled for graffiti there. The Us is very unlikely to mess with you.

Unless I'm in the wrong forum, this isn't some damn extension of your RPing here. Discussion of Nukes, tactical or not in this context is little more than foolish posturing. You should be ashamed. Stop your trolling now and let those who are inclined to have REAL discussions talk things out with out slipping into "You F*ck3r I'll Nuk3 j00!"

While I agree with the first part of the thread starter's post, I had to chuckle when I read the threat ;) Singapore does not appear to be powerful or influential enough to threaten anyone. Frankly, nobody can threaten the US, short from a German, Japanese, French, Russian, Chinese and British alliance to economically sanction the US, no country has the military or economic power to dent the US economy - it's weak spot due to being a consumerist society.
