as of my posting, Edwards is leading Cheney in the post debate poll on CNN, 78% to 18% with 4% saying evenly matched

On MSNBC, the number is 68% to 32%, Edwards beating Cheney

Well, with over 100,000 (on CNN: 190,000+) people voting online, your bound to get a decent margin of error.

the number on MSNBC is over 500,000

okay. Almost 700,000 people.

A poll of 1,000 people considers a margin of error between 2% - 4.5%

That whole poll may be whacked.

I just Saw on Fox News that 53% think Edwards won, versus 46% for Cheney, now THAT is weird.

Then Cheney's gained a little--when I voted about 45 minutes ago, Edwards was winning by more than 90%.

Maybe this proves that more Democrats utilize internet polling? I'm interested to see the Gallup polls when they start making calls.

These internet polls mean absolutely nothing. However, CBS ran an instant phone poll (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/09/08/politics/main641817.shtml) that put Edwards ahead 41-28 with a 31% saying it was a tie.

Well, a single ISP can't vote more than once on the MSNBC poll, so the computer vote is at least accurate. How many of those votes is one person logging on to 100 different computers and registering the same vote we'll never know, however.

Anyone willing to go through all that trouble to affect an online poll deserves to have his/her vote count that many times.

I must be the only liberal here that thought that Cheney won. I actually like the guy too. He's funny and he supports his lesbian daughter when his boss is homophobic.

Edwards looked nervous to me. He constantly was drinking his coffee and subconciously sticking his tongue out at Cheney a lot. I didn't think I would be the only one to notice that. I think he didn't like the coffee.

Those polls are surprising. I goddamn fucking hate those fucking right wing mother fuckers and I thought that Cheney had pulled ahead of Edwards by at least a little.

Of course, I did listen to it on NPR as opposed to watching it on TV and I DID have a fight with my girlfriend midway through. Maybe my poll of myself was a bit skewed.

Trust me, I hate Cheney and saying that I think he won just took two days off my lifespan.

I looked at 60 for Edwards
59 for Cheney and
1 tied,
check state polls and
you may find diffrent results,
granted this a small number of people so far.

Comment on the debate
Debating Cheney is like debating a wall
debating Cheney is like debating yourself
he ignores you like your not even there
I loved it.
