Should be good.
Charisma versus Knowledge.

ex-Halliburton employee versus ex- trial Lawyer

Vice President with heart problems versus Vice President candidate whose healthy.

I perfer Edwards but Cheney will do better than Bush one would hope.

I want to hear Edwards say this: "Maybe I'm not the best vice-presidential candidate. But at least I can go near a microwave oven." :)

It will certainly be interesting watching these two individuals debate.
Cheney unlike President Bush is more of an articulate speaker and therefore will not be at a loss for a proper rebuttal to many of Edwards' rancorous charges. I certainly hope that Edwards will make the critical error of attempting to link some form of impropriety between Cheney's former association with Halliburton and his current post as Vice President.

Salivating.... ;)

Cheney will 1) Have a heart attack, 2) Curse something out, or 3) both

Oh and here's a great conversation between me and my journalism teacher

Teacher: "You have an assignment tonight-"
Somebody: "I know, watch the debates!"
Teacher: "Good, now you'd better not swear over having to watch it or I'll give you detention."
Me: "Do you mean us, or Mr. Cheney?"
*class cracks up*

I plan to watch, but I am hoping for an arm-wrestling match ... or even better a full smack down WWF pay-per view event would kick ass between those two.

Guess I'll just have to watch them talk and see who can put who on the defensive.

Sorry, but if anyone remembers the debate between Cheney and Lieberman from 2000, then you will also remember that Cheney, although lacking in personality, is actually a top-notch debater. I have a feeling that he will be coming out swinging tonight, and he'll prolly win again. Of course, that means little, since no one cares about these debates anyways. Except a select group of about 7 people in the US who actually care about politics.

Also, Lieberman is clearly a Republican in Democrats clothing with the speech patterns of Elmer Fudd. Edwards is definitely a cut above.

Edwards... hmm... no. Lawyers are professional liers. They stay in the judicial branch and stay the hell away from the White House. Politicians are pretty good liers too. So lawyer + politician = uber-untrustworthy.

In my book.

In fact, I'd go so far as to call him a master debater.
On a more serious note, I definitely plan to watch. I recorded the Kerry/Bush debate, but have only watched the first 20 minutes or so, because neither of them have anything new to say. Watching Edwards and Cheney duke it out will be considerably more interesting. And both of them actually know how to debate, so it shouldn't be so one-sided.

Are we going to get a play-by-play style thread like we had for the presidential debate? I enjoyed that one, helped keep it more entertaining and easier to follow.

I'm not in a position to agree or disagree, having never seen either of them debate. I guess that should be an incentive for me to watch, eh? ;)

I'm actually looking for a better, more balanced fight than the first presidential debate.

My guess is that Cheney will paint Edwards as niave and idealistic and Edwards will try to paint Cheney as evil (not really evil, but you get the idea). I tend to think Cheney is kinda evil, but I don't know that this will work in a debate.

There is a term for how that works, and I don't remember it. Essentially by painting Edwards as niave (if successful) creates a fear in the audience that they might be niave, and then will side with the accuser to avoid that. Don't remember what thats called.

Anyway, I'll be watching. See y'all in the Peanut Gallery....

Why would that be a error? Cheney has an association. Why don't you know? :)

Yes, Cheney was the CEO of Halliburton, and? What is he supposedly guilty of? What was this terrrible thing Dick Cheney was supposed to have done?
Specific research please... I'm hoping that you won't parrot the official party line. :(

One should ask why you were Salviating over halliburton in the debate. I agree Cheney as the CEO. No one said he wasn't. To link them was not a error. It is a fact that you state.
No party line just plain facts. Don't need to state what he has done just that its not a error because its true.
