Fox News says "Sorry we lied, we were tired"

Anyone else catch this? Carl Cameron, Fox chief political correspondent ran a story with fake quotes supposedly by Kerry. The lines were,"Didn't my nails and cuticles look great? What a good debate!", "Women should like me! I do manicures.","I'm metrosexual -- he's a cowboy," Later it was discovered that these were a joke by staffers that nobody caught. Fox did not apologize in any way, instead they blamed the 'mistake' on 'fatigue'.

memo that Fox Senior VP John Moody sent to Fox employees ...

PLEASE READ: Last week, we experienced separate lapses of judgment, resulting in the posting, on our website, of inaccurate material.
Credibility is our lifeblood. When we make factual mistakes, we affect adversely all the hard work that we've done for eight years to become the country's leading news channel.

There is enough blame to go around. In last week's incident, a stupid parody of a quote was included in the script queue. It was picked up unthinkingly and included on the website.

For that reason, we are implementing a number of changes: first, and immediately, the scripts queue is OFF LIMITS for editorial use until the item has been broadcast or the script is approved for use. Second, the use of scripts queue for humor, sarcasm, parody or other unprofessional conduct is strictly forbidden.

Failure to follow this directive is a dismissable offense.

Apparently they're pissed it happened, but not enough to make a public apology or retraction.

Oh no they're biased the other way I watched them for 5 minutes and they where indirectly complimenting Kerry saying he had good taste like "I bet Kerry likes french food" compliments like that because we all know they mean it as a good thing because france is great!

Fair and Balanced my ass.

I'd be quite suprised if anyone actually believed that to be the case. Conservatives watch Fox because it's . . . conservative.

Then be surprised, because I've recently met a pair of conservatives who believe that Fox is the only unbiased news channel and the rest are liberal.

Fatigue by the editors probably, didnt get rid of the easily noticeable bias that the writer has

If people want to watch FOXNEWS and believe exactly what FOXNEWS tells them to believe without checking any other sources, or checking out who is behind the media sources then they deserve to have that opinion.

Wow, that's just... Wow. I figured that site had to be a joke, but nope it's legit. At least, I'm assuming so, since they link to some real news stories on the home page. I guess I shouldn't put it past Fox to post that, but this is worse than I've seen before. "Didn't my nails and cuticles look great? What a good debate!" C'mon, not even Bush is that stupid.
