So Im putting together a new computer.
Im going to purchase a motherboard/cpu combo on Thursday.
This one:

Now...the question..
This... http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=80098-6
...Should be the Ram I need, right?
The Motherboard is capable of running at 800 Mghtz FSB..
But the Processor is at 533...
Can I over clock the Processor to 800..or is 533 the fastest its likely to go without overheating, and causing too many problems?

That RAM will work (Corsair is a very reliable brand! I have it in my motherboard!) but your processor is 2.4Ghz, not the 533Mhz. I wouldn't recommend overclocking an Intel processor, they're stable enough to not need it and it's not worth the overheating risk for a almost non-noticeable speed boost. Also, are you only getting 512MB? For that price I would get two sticks to give you 1GB (especially if you plan on playing games).

He's referring to the processor's bus speed. It's not something that can be overclocked just like that, so I'd leave it.
I would also strongly recommend you get an AMD processor instead. They are much better for what the average user needs.

See now, thats where Im confused, The processor Im planning on getting, has a 1 Meg cache, as opposed to an athlon, and the front side bus speeds on the pentium hyperhreaded boards reach 800 mghtz as opposed to Athlons wich usually reach 400mghtz.
How can athlons be better?
They ARE noticably cheaper.
This is the first computer that Ive built for myself, and I want to make it a pretty good gaming system.
As for the Ram, I will eventually get 1 gig, but for now Im just gonna go with 512.

Generally, for the same performance, AMD is a lot cheaper, but I'm not up on the latest news.
I highly recomend http://www.tomshardware.com/.

Okay people..Im gonna order the motherboard combo TOMORROW.
So, Im still leaning towards the one above...
UNLESS....I can find a better combo, and a better price.
Athlon or Pentium Prescott folks?
