Just a note to let all those of good will on here know ...

... since I began posting on this forum, the number of attempts to hack into my computer has essentially doubled. The number of emails screened out by my email client because of virus infected attachments has increased by over 150%.

Fortunately, I anticipated this and took additional steps to avoid having my computer successfully attacked.

All this illustrates is the desperation of those who believe they are SO much better qualified to run our lives for us than we are to run them for ourselves. They believe this so devoutly that they would kill us to protect us from the error of our ways.

Maybe it's just because I'm on the general board, but it seems a lot more on the left than on the right. Then there's Etrucsan, who seems to have gone to the edge of the right, continued around the backside of the political spectrum, passed through the left and returned again to conservatism with tinfoil hats aplenty. Actually, the fact that thye failed would intimate that they are not "dedicated hackers" and rather are wannabes who tried to use the very little knowledge they possessed to break into a computer that was defended better than their punk skills could overcome. And for your information, I am friends with some highly skilled hackers, and they would come after you given almost no reason at all, let alone a subject as serious as politics. If you called them a name on the web, you could expect a visit. Thus, it does not surprise me that some people have made attempts. What does surprise me is that somehow people find that hard to believe. There are plenty of people out there with the knowledge. However, I, and many others, are simply smart enough to keep ourselves well-protected.
