I love how the American right-wing party, the Republicans, gets the reputation for being racist while the American left-wing party, the Democrats, don't. Especially when you look at the facts. Such as the Civil Rights Act, because only 64% of the Democrats in Congress voted for it, whereas 92% of the Republicans did. Coincidence? :confused:

Also, the Democrats pushed through the idea of Affirmitive Action so that the country can fill quotas of race instead of actually caring about the quality of the people who are trying to get into college, be on TV, etc.

I won't stand up and say that racism doesn't exist in the Republican party, because there are way too many examples of where it does. But I do like how the most (politically) powerful black people in the country are Republicans (i.e. Colin Powell, Condeleeza Rice, J.C. Watts). (Note: I had to add the word "politically" in there because I think that Nelly, Tupac (RIP), Snoop Dogg, Eminem (oh, wait... ;) ), etc., are much more powerful in America than politicians are.)

Because strom thurmond and his cronies were kicked out of the democrat party AFTER that vote. And there was a lot of them.
