1. I support whatever choice the majority of the people of Northern Ireland make, or whatever compromise they come to. I am personally neutral, neither nationalist nor unionist.

2. Yeah, it's pretty good.

What about Poles, Russians and Finns?

Russian peasants drink barrels of Communist era industrial strength submarine-paint stripper when their drinks cabinet gets low. The severe personal hygiene problem they have in Siberia is apparently caused by the wide-spread consumption of perfumes and colognes as popular after-dinner sundowners.

Is it the translucent skin?

The ginger bodyhair?

The fact that because you don't know how to pronounce names like Proinsias, Coinneach or Dubhlainn, they take on a fascinating air of mystery?

It's a bunch of guys running around a pitch whacking a ball around with sticks. It's really cool.

We're not. Well, only on weekend nights. It's in the culture.

Yes, but you have to admit that Thursday, Friday and Sunday are all considered weekend nights.

Hey come on, other countries invade each other, while Ireland has never had an official war - instead a good Irishman just gets drunk and then glasses his fellow countryman. Consider it a step towards global peace between nations.

1. I support the position of the people in question above any other consideration.

2. It is for me. I only drink other beers if Guinness is not available.
