A few interesting notes about the Arkansas at Florida game:

1) First road trip for Arkansas this season, and it is especially important to note, considering the youth and inexperience of the Arkansas team.

2) The score was 35-7, Florida's lead at halftime. In the second half, Nutt's Hogs proceeded to hold Florida to just 10 point, while score 23 for themselves. An excellent comeback effort, just not quite enough (kind of like last year's Gator-Hog game).

*points and laughs at LSU*

Aah... it's so lovely to see them go down.

:D

Yay OU, who smashed some Texas Techers today. Oh and Big 12>SEC, just to interject something here ;)

Top 25 consists of...

5 SEC TEAMS
3 ACC Teams
3 Big 12 Teams
2 Pac-10 Teams
2 Western Athletic Teams
1 Big Ten Team
1 Conference USA Team
1 Independent Team
1 Mountain West Team

And not only that, but Arkansas and South Carolina are pretty competitive teams as well.

My friends at LSU mocked Marshall after they lost to Georgia 13-3. Well, we held Georgia to very little offense and kept it a game for the entire duration. We weren't supposed to be able to do that. LSU goes to the same place and gets destroyed. I really enjoyed that phone call tonight!

Marshall already got its win on Wednesday night. I'm stunned Kentucky is getting beaten by Ohio. Ohio couldn't beat its way out of a wet paper bag.

But what's royally thrilling is the beating that WVU took. They were so overranked it was absurd. They needed this win to show they belonged and ended up looking stupid. They lost to a team that did not score an offensive touchdown against them. THAT'S SO WONDERFUL!!!

All in all, a very good day for football, except for Notre Dame getting beaten up by Purdue. And Auburn looks like the real deal!

Ohio-Kentucky game over (original post updated).

Tenn-Aub game moves into 4th quarter.

Kentucky and Vanderbilt are the two worst SEC teams--it's not a surprise to see either one of them lose.

Some key match ups for next week in the SEC:

Tennessee at Georgia
LSU at Florida

And if you're a hog, Louisiana Tech at Auburn, because the Hogs get next week off and need to study up before the head down to Auburn.

How many ACC teams in top 25?
Does that matter, if the highest SEC team is at 3 (beaten by a PAC-10 and Big12 school)?

Georgia is 4-0.
Auburn is 4-0, headed toward 5-0. The SEC is going to have 2 top 5 teams after tonight.

And if you'll notice, the top 25 SEC teams with losses have only lost to other SEC teams.

Georgia is 4-0.
Yeah, yeah. The gap between 1 and 2 is much smaller than the gap between 2 and 3.

And? Just because 1 Big 12 team is ranked better than any other SEC team doesn't mean the Big 12 is better than the SEC. The fact that the SEC has more teams in the top 25 than any other conference just goes to show how competitive the SEC is...

I'd even argue that #5 Texas is overranked, and Oklahoma is probably lucky they don't have to play Arkansas. It'd be another tough game in the OU season.

Well, we'll see how overranked Texas is when we play them next week. I don't think it will be an easy victory - although Texas certainly did have a hard time of it with Arkansas. OU hasn't had a close shave yet this season (unlike USC), although we've underperformed to our standards quite a bit.

Anyway, yeah, naturally I would think the Big 12's better since that's where I go to school. w00t!

Oklahoma is probably lucky they don't have to play Arkansas. It'd be another tough game in the OU season.Forgive me while I step out to laugh madly. Although if White's performance on third down conversions in this game is anything to judge by, you might actually have some reason. Feh, so much for Mr. Heisman Trophey Winner.

I know mistakes are part of football, and it's part of winning and losing, but that's essentially the only reason Arkansas lost to Texas...and most of the reason Arkansas lost to Florida as well. There were fewer mistakes made against 'Bama, and therefore Arkansas won (plus they were without their QB). I don't think Arkansas is underrated because they lose due to mistakes they make, but when the #5 team in the nation beats Arkansas by two points in a game in which Arkansas made tons of errors, you've got to know Texas is overrated. The thing is, OU vs Texas definitely isn't an easy game for either team--however, how often do you say that for Big 12 teams? Arkansas has to play every ranked SEC team this season except Tennessee. We already played Texas, played Florida this week (in Florida), in two weeks we've go to travel to Auburn and the week after that turn around and play Georgia, the two best SEC teams. ...and once that's done, we've still got LSU to play, but they're also overrated, and they're coming to the rock. Nutt is 17-0 in the Rock...

Auburn wins. 34-10. I think Georgia will be playing Auburn twice this season. Once for their season SEC matchup...then again for the SEC championship..

Oh trust me, I was rooting for Arkansas against Texas, and I agree that Arkansas seemed the better team. (Yeah, yeah, I know I was rooting against a Big12 in favor of SEC, but OU just hates Texas that much.) Texas's game this week was a breeze for them...oh well, you know, we'll see next week. Biggest rivarly game ever, and no, I wasn't able to get tickets. :\

Well, people were camped out for 3-4 days to get into the Texas game. Students were anyway. I've got my tickets for the Hogs. I haven't missed any Fayetteville games. The only games I didn't go to was against UL Monroe in Little Rock and against Florida in Gainesville. I'm not going to the Auburn game, but that will hopefully be on TV (I mean, best team in SEC West...vs a team with Matt Jones on it...)
