Question for abortionists

If you say that the baby is not a living thing yet; it is not a human; do you consider killing a pregnant woman a more vile offense than killing any other person?

BTW please don't turn this into an abortion/anti-abortion debate, I just want to know where they stand on this.

The fact that a fetus isn't a concious being yet doesn't mean anyone has the right to kill it, that is effectively making the decision for the parents whether or not they can have a child, which is obviously wrong by itself, even if you don't consider killing the baby murder by itself.

You don't get more vile than murder...

So, I'd say no

I'm pro-choice, and I believe that killing a pregnant woman should carry the same consequence as killing anyone else. The fetus is unborn, so, how can a person be charged with duel murder when this fetsu is INSIDE the woman that was murdered? Essentially, the person murdered just one person because the fetus was not existing outside of the woman's womb.

All I can say to this is:

Abortion is not really nice. However mothers deserve to be dominant over their bodies. Therefor an abortion should remain legal.

Killing a pregnant woman is a terrible thing to do. It's slightly worse than killing a normal person as you would be killing two(or three depending on how many children she's about to have) people.

In other words: It's alright for the mum to save herself and kill the thing growing inside her. It is not ok for someone to go and kill a mother-to-be and an unborn child, as it was obviously not the mother's choice(otherwise she would have gotten rid of the baby) and you're mudering the mother.

This isn't a tricky question you know.

Once the fetus is viable (ie. could survive outside the womb), I believe it should be (and basically is) considered to be a separate life. The woman should only (and can only) have an abortion to save her life. At this point, I would be fine with it being considered a double murder - especially because, at that point, there's pretty much no way to miss that the woman is pregnant. Before that, it is just murder - and that is abhorrent enough.

To answer your question, yes. You've killed the mother and decided that you as a complete stranger should determine if the fetus lives. That decision belongs to the parents, and them alone. Had you taken even a minute to consider your question before asking, surely you would have realized that.

if the woman is obviously pregnant yes

you cannot compare murder to abortion, abortion is a decision by the woman to not have a child. murder is some one not the mother who is already committing a criminal act and if she is visibly pregnant the person is knowingly murdering the child

Well, I wanted to see if there were any people that would take the belief that the fetus is not a living thing so far as to say killing a pregnant woman is the same as killing a normal person. Looking at the replies, it seems thaier ARE some who do.

a fetus is obviously a living thing. so is a tape worm. that's not the issue you were getting at; you wanted to know how people felt about the PERSONHOOD of fetuses.
