It is real. O'Reilly frequently plugs it on his show.

Why? Because you don't agree with him? That's rather small-minded of you. There is such a thing as freedom of speech, you know.

One day I happened upon an entire shelf of those in a bookstore. I was tempted to go postal right then and there. Next thing you know, we'll get:

"Chicken Soup for the Satanist Cannibal Chimpanzee's Soul"

No. Because, in general, politics directed at children should not exist. They cannot grasp the issue, and will believe whatever a book tells them, whether it be O'Reilly for kids or Moore for kids

To true, but then how would teachers fill up the school day without their attempts at political indoctrination?

Yes, because children are stupid little gits who get enough of themselves and NEVER worry or wonder what's happening in the world.

I don't know about where YOU live, but the children in my community are well informed about international/national news and political issues.

...or filling their minds with information they should get from their parents. The school should not have to fill the role of moral upbringing in children's lives.

Who do you think YOU're kidding? Hell! Most of the people posting on this board don't even have enough real world experience to understand what's happening! How do you expect even younger children to understand?

Because I've seen younger children understand. Sure, not all of them are like this, but most of the ones I know do understand the things going on in our world.

more importantly, pretty much ALL children are capable of such understanding; the only reason that many don't do it is because of their sheltered upbringing, or because they have parents who don't take the time to explain political matters to them. barring actual disabilities, every child is capable of understanding most general political concepts, and once they hit about Junior High age they can grasp at least as much as the current president does.

if i had kids i would encourage them to read books like O'Reilly's, and then would discuss it with them; O'Reilly is so irrational and illogical than i could be confident my 6 year old would be able to see through his propaganda. it would be a good lesson in "Grownups aren't always adults."

If I held all children to my standard as a child, then teachers around the world would be seriously scratching their heads, wondering what to do.

so I'm not really surprised by this "Billy for Kids" book.
