Really? I didn't even notice. We listened to the news in the car at 8am and guess what? We got out of school at 11:45, wandered around the parking lot, got picked up at noonish, and there was nothing unusual. So much for going to school, leaving for lunch to an ashfall, and saying "I guess it erupted."

They mean that it erupted after 1980 but '80 was the last BIG eruption
