The right is dead, long live the centre

The Consevetive Party (Right wing aprty in the UK, opposed to the Welfare state, min wage, wants to undermime the free healthcare provided in the UK and do huge cuts to public services) have come from second place to fourth in the Hartlepool By-election (When a MP leaves, a new MP needs to be elected) behind a fringe party like UKIP. The Labour Party (A "Democratic Socialist" Party) retained Hartlepool although there was a huge swing to the Liberal Democrats.

It seems like the Conservetive party has not learnt that their Right wing policies are not popular in Britain anymore and that their Tatcherite leader is only going to lead the party to become less and less electible as they move more and more to the right, and I just hope that they keep moving to the right, so never again will we have to suffer a Tory government that makes live a lot worse for people in general.
They should be doing better, like a close 2nd place, especally this close to a general election

Ah centrism. So rarely do we hear anyone speaking up for it. Go centrism!

They lost out on third place by 149 votes, that's as close to joint 3rd as makes no difference. Be aware that Hartlepool has been a Labour seat since the war, so don't take this as representative of the country. All UKIP will do is draw support from Labour- there's no reason to protest the Tories by voting for them. Anyway, it means a better for the Lib Dems, so it's all good.
