I'm here to see what peoples fantasy bands are. Please give a broad style and up to six names. Go ahead and critique and debate but for my sake please don't senselessly bash.

Classic Style type rock

1. Lawrence Gowan-Keyboards and Vocals-multiplatinum canidian artist, amaing songwriter, graduated Royal Acadamey of Music in piano performance currnetly plays in styx.
2. Brian May-Guitar and vocals-Queens guitarist, not super great technicaly but is a stylistic genius, made lots of his own guitars, can also write songs and sing.
3. John Petrucci-Guitar-plays in Dream Theater, amazing player with some classic rock influences, would add a little modern spice to the band, often lacks sense of musicality
4. Flea-Bass-I like his style and that he plays multiple styles, besides the guy can write amazing bass lines that aren't intrusive and can play just about anything you'd hear in a band of this style, awful little guy for such a big insturment
5. Todd Sucherman-drums-Solid technical player, gooddoulble bassdrum work, good cymbal work, studied at Berklee college of music, studio gun, currnetly on tour with Styx, besides I really like his style
6. Some one solid who could do just about anyhing, particulary sax and flute, axullary percussion and boards and maybe sing a little- open to suggestions

5. John Bonham - drums

1. Amazing, huge range, anystyle, dead, but amazing
2. In the immortal words of Thin Lizzy "I hate LEd Zeplin" the music, especially the vocals grinds on my nerves, but solid technical choice
3-5 all solid choices
Cannot think of a name

Candy Dulfer?
Dude, you need help....
eek.

All sax players can play flute (good ones anyway).

Dream bands have already existed for me:

Dizzy, Bird, Bud Powell, Charles Mingus, Max Roach on The Quintet.

Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, and Max Roach on Money Jungle.

Very good albums, I've heard bits and pieces of both. As to saxaphones on flute, all alto sax players can and the others could learn easily enough, it's being good at those two and the other ones that make this trickey. Speaking of Jazz and great Sax/Flute players, if anyone ever gets the chance go see the Gary Foster Quartet, saw them last week and they were amazing, from LA area I believe.

Drums: I like Bill Bruford he has a jazzier feel than most and played some fusion bands before. Phil Collins was great in the 70's and since then I am sorry
Vocals: Greg Lake cool barritone gets away from all the shrill squeeky singers.
Guitars Steve Howe a country jazzy player on acid great technique.
More guitars Adrian Belew for noise sqwaks and randon stuff.
Keys Tony Banks in his prime. Or Rick Wakeman. Now maybe Tomas Bodin from the Flower Kings.
Bass Tony Levin he did the great riff to sleepless (king Crimson)and can play stick too.
Violin John Luc Ponty. Even more for his work with Mahivishnu Orchestra and Frank Zappa.

More of a classic Prog band.

Yes, yes I do. I'm also a vocalist, but then again so is Louis. I was thinking about adding Frank Sinatra, but decided that he would probably go better in a Big Band.
