Corn Maze Craze

Just curious how many of the rest of you have been going to Corn Mazes. I also wanted to know if this is just a US thing or if there is something similar happening in other countries.

Tonight I just spent 2 hours under the full moon somewhat lost, somewhat not in this year's Woodland, CA corn field maze. These things have become so popular here in California that new ones are popping up. :)

Here is a link to the company that put on the Woodland maze.

Warning, that site will play some hooky music, but it should give you an idea what it is like. That said, it is incredibly fun to wander around in the dark with glow sticks in a hoodie (sweatshirt) in the moon light surrounded by 10' corn stalks. :)

I've been going every Sept. / Oct. for the past 5 years ... 99, 00, 01, 02, 03, 04 ... whoops, past 6 years! :)

I've been in a corn maze with my nephews last year. They liked it. Eh.

It was ok. I could do better. I mean, there were no booby traps or anything! I'd put in snares and pit traps and stuff if I were in charge.

Okay... as one who grew up near some corn fields.... Corn field mazes don't quite hold the same allure. :p

The comet is here. It always was, but we'll all be left behind, SOON! Forsake this miserable, crude matter and join with me as one.

I don't have to cut off my nads, do I?

Because if so, I'll catch a later flight, thanks. :p

They're catching on around the world. There's been a couple done in NZ and Oz I recall.

*Flipping a tuft of his wavy coif from his shoulder with an airy movement of his mighty wrist, he puffs tobacco out of his antique mahogany pipe and boldly stares into the future*

Indeed.

They should allow paintballing in corn-field mazes.

Got some in the north east here too.... perfect sideline for some farmers -- yes, they grow the corn anyhow, and then charge tourists for the honor of walking through it! :)

Around Halloween they haunt the second half of the maze. A few years ago they had a gorilla suited person stalking people, a guy with a goalie mask and chainsaw, and tons of decorations.

That same year my girlfriend at the time decided to pluck the corn off the stalks and bombard people ... which I thought was massively uncool. But you never know what surprises lay in waiting!

There's one in the nearby town back home, but I've never been through it...
