Abortion Evolution

This is NOT about the legalities of abortion! Plenty of threads for that. This is NOT about the morality of abortion. Plenty of threads for that too.
This is about a nutty thought I had(my favorite kind).
My nutty thought is this: Can humans develop a resistance to abortion? I mean, think about it: You have heard rare cases of attempted abortions that don't work. They are rare, but they exist. Already, such primitive forms like IUDs are not foolproof.
Perhaps over the course of time, hundreds of millennia, humans embryos and fetuses will develop resistance to chemical abortion, and protective safeguards from surgical abortions.
Wouldn't that be fun?

Not nearly enough failed abortions...I can't think of any one that I have heard of.

Well, if humans adapted so that having an abortion would also kill the mother, then I guess we could evolve out of it.

First of all, you'd need generations of aborted fetuses... And that's not really a possibility... Or is it?

gg abortionists
I would like to think that by that time we'll all have grown into an advanced society of philosopers so it wouldn't be an issue anymore or have just blown ourselves up.

Besides that, for it to evolve, it would have to mean that abortion survivors were becoming a bigger and bigger part of the population. If that isn't happening, and if it isn't proven that surviving an abortion has nothing to do with genetics, then it's just anamolies and not evolution.

No, you need generations of abortion survivors.

If they evolve to a point that they can defend themselves it could become a new reality series: When Fetuses (Feti?) Attack

No I don't think so.
Not unless we are really Kryptonians! ;)
By the time the body could build up a tollerence to certain chemicals, there would be a new process.

Actually, you'd need generations of children who survived abortion attempts. It'd take a while for their genes to spread, because there are so few of them. But eventually, their superior traits would go from recessive to dominant.

Since we are heading to hell with this discussion....
Anybody ever see the South Park episode with Christopher Reeves?
;)
Not when there are so many different ways to abort a fetus, no.

Of course. You're right...
But abortions and kids that survive abortions are too few. I think it's more likely that we'll evolve to overcome contraception. For isntance: We might get super-sperm that shoots through latex or something.
