I am sick of reading thread after thread of political argument. I want a political-free thread. Have discussions about non-political information here, and i will be in every once in a while-enjoy this free space.

Starting topic: What is better, a scary movie or an action film?

Action Films as long as their not with Steven Seagal

Indeed. Segal is a useless actor, and he seems to get all the crap movies. #

Then again, there are some crap horror movies as well, like scream, which didn't really have much of a plot. just a lot of killing.

Scary movie, any day of the week. The problem is, I think good* scary movies are rarer than good action movies.

I prefer a scary movie, but I haven't seen a good one in ages.

I'm not bothered just as long as there's lots of blood and death and stuff

Good scary movies are a bit harder to come by, so I'd say action films mostly.

Something with exotic cars in it. I know that has to be totally surprising to everyone. ;)

Action movies are better on average. The average drops when Arnold Scharwtzenegger (sp?) play in it.

... wait, maybe that's too political for this thread?

Scary movies with evil masked "people" in them that KERRY sharp knives and/or chainsaws tend to be better than action flicks that show too much gratuitous destruction of BUSHES.

What about space-flicks..?

Are movies with, for example Darth NADER in them considered action flicks, or "scary" movies...?

There hasn't been a good horror film in a long time. Remember when the Blair Witch Project came out and everyone said how scary that was? I was so eager to see that and when I came out from that I damn near screamed at how bad it was.

I have never seen a good horror movie. Psicological thriller, I can see that, but "horror movies" are a crime against film industry. :p

You are MAD,... MAD I tell you..!

That was the creepiest (not necessarily "horrific") movie I'd every seen. The rollercoaster ride of night and day was agonizing.

Of course, so was the camera work, which left me with a massive headache, but that was the "style" of the flick.

Yes,... you are Mad,.. mad I tell you..! :)

Creepy? A bunch of kids are wandering around the forest with a camera. OOOOOOH!!! One has a runny nose and is really bossy. OOOOOOOOH!!! They get lost and can't find their way. That's just stupidity. They deserved to die for putting that poor town in Maryland through so much hell of having people come there and wondering where it really happened.

They must have been WVU students.

Cinema is brilliant for scary movies as I don't tend to react to them but watch the audience for their reaction.
The Village was good for that as there was a group of about 8 13 year old girls there who screamed at exactly the right points.
I also know a girl who screamed at Fluffy in Harry Potter. :S

I'd say I prefer action films, but I'm thinking more of kung-fu movies as you can only see scary movies once but can see a man lose his kidneys through his nose many times.
And before anyone says about them being cheesy at times then that's part of the fun in my opinion.
