Do you or have you ever had a pet rat?

If the answer is yes, then come hither and cavort with others of your ilk. Yes, your vision is fine! Refused Party Program is introducing a social forum for Rat Owners! It's crazy but it JUST MIGHT WORK!!!

I shall begin:

My name is Hayrr and I had a pet rat when I was younger and he was called Norman The Destroyer. He died in an unfortunate accident with a vacuum cleaner. To this day I still visit petshops just to let the rats scratch my face.

I have owned many rats over the years. My most recent was "Winky". I called her that because she'd obviously been in a fight at some point and lost an eye.

She died a couple of weeks ago after 2 years of loving loyalty.

I will get another when the opportunity affords itself. I don't buy them from pet stores. I prefer to let the find me and adopt me.

Got a rat too, she's named Cookie (At first I wanted to call her Blitzkrieg, but that name didn't fit since she's quite shy). Anyway she's a tough little girl and beats my girlfriends rat, who's double her age, quite often.

Blitzkreig could have been an ironic name?

Norman The Destroyer wasn't ironic. He would destroy my hands when i tried to hold him and if I was wearing gloves he'd go for my face. I loved that fucker.

Rats make great pets. They are smart, clean, and don’t take up a lot of space. Between my brother and me we had about 8 rats as kids. The rats used to ride on my dogs backs (very humiliating for the dog I think). We had lots of guinea pigs too but they are dumb as stuffed socks. The rats used to chase the pigs around and play tricks on them all the time.

Odd that, my guinea pig is very intelligent.
I think it's down to breeding and upbringing.

Mmm. I think Norman's anger stemmed from a traumatic childhood. Or possibly because I named him Norman.

Well history has remembered the Normans as rather violent and bloodthirsty.
Maybe he'd been reading the wrong books.

Or indeed, the right ones. You could be right. I don't why I called him Norman The Destroyer. Must have been clairvoyance.

Sometimes names just seem to fit.
Like we have a dog named Mallory after Mallory Park racing circuit and he loves to charge around and indeed does sometimes do laps around the lower floor.

No, that's not what I meant at all. I was agreeing that rats are greater than all other pet animals.

So afterwards you buried your excrement? Because you know some of it will be not be assimilated into chemicals for your body.

No-my brother decided it would be a good idea to transport his rats to his friends house in a polystyrine box, and the rats decided to eat it.

they died a few days later. My brother was quite upset, but all I had to say was "Told ya so."

Their names were Bill and Ben.
