Kerry in the wrong country?

Those of us on the Right have, on ocassion, referred to John Kerry as being "French-looking," which he is, or at least appears to be (speaks French at home, looks French, loves the United Nations, can't play football, and let's not forget about the Philly cheese steak sandwich incident!)

But, maybe we have been wrong about that. Arthur Weinreb presents a different theory (http://www.torontofreepress.com/2004/weinreb082704.htm) as to what country would really make John Kerry feel at home. As a bonus to Kerry, a portion of that country is French-speaking.

Don't know about Kerry, but I'm pretty sure I should be a Canadian.

Problem is, that guy is a Candian. You are not an African. If an African said what you did, it would be funny. Coming from you though, it is just another tired out joke that is pretty much left to the eye of the beholder. And I might add that your fixation on a president's looks does not bode well for this country. Pam Anderson is hot as hell! Lets make her President!

Of course, the counter to that is:

Kerry looks like a horse, and sounds like Mr Ed. Should we put him on reruns on Nick at Nite?

You see, your fixation with Bush's appearance (which by the way, is not credible,) takes away any credibility you might want to claim.

What credibility qre you talking about? This is a thread based on the sole idea that Kerry should be Canadian... It's all fictional! Get over it!

she can't be president for the same reason schwarsenegger(sp?) can't be president. she's naturally a canadian citizen, she only recently obtained american citizenship.

she could be a governor though...

The author of that piece lost all credibility when he stated that Bush took criticism quietly. Hahahahahahahaha!

Bush's all-purpose coin-flip defense against any criticism

heads: Your criticism of me is hurting the morale of the troops and giving comfort to the enemy.

tails: You're ignoring all the good. Everything is going well. All you can do is go negative.

Kerry would be right wing in Canada which would prove rather tough to get in. He's got a better chance in the US.

I find it sad that everyone can take what is essentially a fictional fluff humor piece written by a canadian to chide canadians and turn it into another argument of "bush looks stupid, kerry looks ugly".

Things like this make me despair of the electoral process.

ROFLMAO!!! Actually, I think Kerry looks more like Herman Munster than anyone else. And it's for certain that Teresa Heinz-Kerry could qualify as Morticia, only not in the looks department. BTW ... did you hear that California has finally made necrophilia illegal? Yup! Now Kerry will either have to get another divorce and find a new heiress to marry, or stay the hell out of California! :D

This article doesn't make sense at points. He says "only in Canada can you be a war hero and a peace activist", and then goes on to talk about how Kerry protested against the Vietnam War after coming home with some purple hearts.... but he did that in America. Of course, it's a silly fluff piece that seems to be under the impression that all people in a given country should act in a certain way and all people that act a certain way should live in a given country. And he's condemning people for whining and in effect is... whining about it.

yes, it is true that the nutjob end of the right in america (aka 'mainstream' republicans and beyond) has consistently shown itself to be xenophobic and childish.

Chill man...It's not a funny joke but it's not that bad...And in what way would it be funnier coming from an African? It'd still be bad...
I would say though that that joke is as much based on fact as any aspersion that Kerry is "French-looking"...I'm English and our enmity with France goes back to before America was even discovered by western europe but I know that in this country any politician who called another "French-looking" would be disapproved of and probably mocked...

It could be noted that you are wrong.
It might also be brought up that Bush hasn't responded to anything, Bush supporters have.
Another mention might be made of the fact that George Bush as never gone ad hominen, whilst Kerry went that way the moment he started.
Not that I'm saying anything, but I could if I felt like it.
