Stupid as in uncapable of rational thought, no.

Stupid as in are prone to irrational actions, then yes.

Humans are only stupid in comparison to more intelligent humans. Every other form of life on the planet is more stupid. Did Armadillos invent lasers? No! We did!

we're stupid in the sense that we keep senslessly killing each other and destroying our home and yet we're too greedy and focuesed on the short term to look up and consider that possibly out present actions will have future consequences.

Yes, because even the literate of us can't spell "people".

Yes, humans are incredibly stupid compred to the thrue rulers of Earth: The cats! Proof? Who feeds who? Who cleans the other's toilet? Who have voted George W. Shrub to power? We should consider ourselves fortunate that the cats are not yet so dissatisfied with us that they have decided to assume direct control over Earth again...

in some ways, if we end up wiping out the majority of civilization and culture, what emerges from the rubble will be a people in need of energy but without fossil fuels, a people with the memory of that greatest event that almost ended us and possible a better civilization will grow

The whole 'cats rule the universe!' schtick is incredibly tiresome.

When you've seen one fall in a toilet through its own stupidity, the concept comes crashing down.

Humans are intelligent when it comes to complicated things, but when it comes to simpliers things, we just cant comprehend them...and foolishly make irrational mistakes. such as fighting in wars..killing their men because they killed ours...when in reality we are all one yet we are split by our differences. Religion and Morality is pretty much what is going to doom us all.

Someone (i forget who) one said the IQ of a mob is inversely proporitional to the number of people in it. In my experience, this seems to be true.

Christianity seems to play a big role in this apparent self-hate people have for themselves just for being human. It tells you you are evil, dirty, sinful and has a generally very pessimistic view of humans. Meanwhile, it goes happily along promoting ignorance!

Capitalism as well, I would argue, has the potential to bring out the worst in some people and has instilled this sad view that good and worthwhile things have to be profitable. "Why don't those philosophers and artists get real jobs?" or "I'm going to be a doctor because they get a great salary!"

Before you try to pass judgment on the human race, you should examine where your ideas about humanity came from and how they might be negatively influenced by people who have a vested self-interest in you thinking that way.

Are humans stupid? If you mean stupid as in inability to do simple arithmetic, writing, inventing things, etc. then no humans are not stupid.

If you mean are humans stupid in the sense of not doing the smart/wise thing? Yes humans are stupid.

If humans are stupid, how could they be philosophical enough to even think about wether humans are stupid. You would have to be above stupid to be able to consider yourself stupid.

This kind of sentiment is so prevalent, yet it makes no sense. Because a few people are stupid, it makes the whole of humanity stupid? Give me a break. There have been many, many exceedingly smart and wise people, but they never seem to be taken into account by the people who come to the above conclusion.

No, not really. My motto is "It isn't stupid, 'till you've done it twice." However, when you come to some decisions you wonder how anyone with a brain could make that decision.
