You ever think of something...?

And it turns out that someone else already did a long time ago? for example, In this game, and in a good deal of the writing I do, I use the name Tiu, but just now, I learned that Tiu, was the germanic god of war way back in he day, and fittingly enough the characters who bear this namne are more often than not warriors, Dare I say it, divine inspiration or just coincidence?

I was just thinking about this a few weeks back. I was on the subway here in Hong Kong and it occurred to me how cool it would be if you stuck a series of pictures on the walls of the tunnels, spaced far enough apart so that the passenger would see 24 pictures a second. In other words, they would see a movie! Except they the ones moving, not the pictures.
Two weeks later there's a ad in one tunnel done exactly like this, and an article in the paper about it. Apparently someone in America thought of it a couple of years ago and has patented it.
So now I don't know whether I had a fantastic 'original' idea (original as in my own) that could have been my ticket to fortune had I had it earlier or must have read or overheard about the concept sometime in the past and it just sat there, hiding, unwanted until it popped into my head when I was bored on the subway.
Same thing could have happened to you. You probably were told/read/heard/saw a show about Tiu years back but had forgotten about it, though it stayed lodged in your subconscious.
