To clarify misconceptions that the leftists were pro-Beijing while the right was pro-democracy.

:-)

Hi, I'm Long Hair Leung, and I now have a seat in the Hong Kong Legislative Council.

I don't think it can be argued that I'm the most leftist member of the simulation: I want to turn Hong Kong into a welfare state, I want to end the war on drugs, I'm extremely socially tolerant, I want more protection for the working class, more regulation for business, and I will fight with you all against the Beijing Elite to ensure that Democracy is won for the people of Hong Kong!

The DABH and the Liberals are the most right-wing parties in Hong Kong: They're supported by the Chinese "Communist" Party, a right-wing government that wraps its propaganda in socialist rhetoric. In reality, the CCP lets foreign corporations work Chinese workers to death for next to no money, no right to organise and strike, and poor working conditions.

Is it any coincidence that social conservatives, ultra-nationalists, and the Big Business Elite that usurp control of the legislature's composition from the people of Hong Kong all back pro-Beijning candidates?

The Democrats a moderate left-liberal party that calls for democracy while being loyal to Beijing, the Frontier is more radical in its politics and less friendly towards Beijing, and me, while I'd like to see students re-enact the Tiananmen Square Massacre on PLA fascist goons, so you obviously know that I think very little of Beijing...

The democratic candidates won 62% of the vote and 18 of 30 seats in the legislature, while an independent with democratic leanings won 1 seat. The others went to fascist parties loyal to Beijing. Of the functional constituencies chosen by big business and lobby groups, the fascist parties won 23 of 30 seats while the pro-democracy parties won 7 of 30 seats. Thus, the people of Hong Kong had their will subverted by the elite.

Sounds pretty reactionary to me...
