I heard that Rasmus and 50 Cent got booed/mudded/bottled off stage at Reading. I don't care about 50 Cent, but the Rasmus! WHY?!
Could anyone tell me, if you were there, WTF happened?
Thanks.

I'm guessin' it's because they are largely held to be a bloody awful band and so many people were annoyed that they were so high on the bill...

I was there in '83 (supposedly the Last Reading Rock Festival) when Steel Pulse got bottled off. Can't say I was surprised - they were totally inappropriate to the tone of the event which was very metal.Perhaps that was what happened this time.

because they do (for want of a better word) suck. They have as much in common with the festival as 50 cent does.
Cannot think of a name

If this is Reading, California then who set up a rap show there? If not, ignore me.

*Sticks up arm that still has Reading Weekend 2004 wristband wrapped around it*

The Rasmus got bottled off because they were considered by a large section of the crowd to be tacky commercial wannabes who had no place at the Reading Festival, let alone the main stage.

Personally I think there were many other bands playing who fitted that description (i.e the Lostprophets), and that bottling bands off is rude. If you don't like 'em you can go listen to music at another stage.

Unfotunately I did not witniss either the bottlings of the Rasmus or 50 Cent cos I was busy doing all kinds of other crazzzzy stuff

*sigh* No, this was Reading in England where takes place one half of one of the country's biggest rock festivals...50 Cent were bottled off as they were as is said above, totally inappropriate, The Rasmus because they are bollocks....And while I'm here, the line up this year was the worst I have ever seen...

The festival experience is always mindblowing, whatever the line up.

i know alot of poeple who just go to festivals, catch one or two bands and spend the rest of the time barely able to move

You passed Go and landed there, and since I also own the B&O and Short Line, so you owe me $100.

Oh, well certainly, but I always reckon that unless the bands are worth seeing then you might as well spend the hundred and five quid on getting comfortably unable to walk at home...

Has to be said though that is a very expensive way of doing things, especially when a weekend ticket costs around £100

HOW MUCH? It was about £16 when I last went! And that included camping.

£16!? When was that!? I'd say its still worth it for £100 (just about) cos imagine you'd normally pay £10-£15 to see a band you really like. So this means if you like 8+ bands over the whole 3 days then you've got your moneys worth.

And everyone wanted the Dropkick Murphys instead of the Rasmus

Likewise for Green Day instead of 50 Cent.

This sounds a lot like something that would have happened at Woodstock '99. The Rasmus have a couple of songs I like (especially "In The Shadows"). 50 Cent I hate with a friggin' passion so I would likely be booing his arse too.

Hmm, what are you trying to say there? You only dissaprove of "dumbass rappers" or are all rappers dumbass? Because Jurassic 5 also played Reading and they were feckin awesome. Crowd loved them. The Streets, Dizzee Rascal and Har Marr Superstar aren't exactly 'rockin' but they were all popular performances.

I don't like 50 cent cos of his homophobia, his false-macho gangsta image, and his attitude to women. But I think a lot of the bottlers didn't like him cos they thought he was 'commercial'. Well take a look at the friggin Lostprophets how much more commercial can you get? At least the Rasmus are much more true to themselves than the Lostprophets, who seem to have convinced themselves they come from California. And notice how all their videos have skateboarders and bikers and dancing girls in them. Pathetic.

*for those not in the know, the Lostprophets come from Wales.
