Are we worse off.....

La Terra di Liberta

..... now in 2004 then we were in 2000? With 9/11 and global terrorism emerging, it's an obvious yes. Also, the fact that Clinton was president in 2000 and Bush is president now. With the rebels growing strength in Russia and the mess in Iraq, the world's free(er) countries are disorganized and scattered. While the terrorists and extremists are a little disorganized and a country short to train in (Afghanistan and NOT Iraq), I have this sinking feeling that something every bad is going to happen. We are too spread out, we are paranoid of anyone who was born or has family from North Eastern Africa or the Middle East (a man named Maher Arar, who is a Canadian was deported from New York to Syria because they thought he was associated with Al Queda and now his relatives in Tunisia are under investigation) and allies are turning on allies. If we don't smarten up and soon, the world could be a very different place in a few years.
