You can't define a libertarian like me so simply by left-right

I guess if I make the argument that in order to have social justice, a government must be fiscally conservative (thereby making it progressive to be conservative :D), then I'd be somewhere in the 2.5 to 3.5 range. I'm too much of a pragmatist to way over on the left.

But who's system? I don't consider American politics because we go through reversals by having yesterdays liberals becoming todays conservatives. They want to conserve the (liberal at the time)liberties they were used to during their generations.

I guess I am a liberal conservative, because I want to conserve every individual liberty America has and ever had(equal unharmful liberties). Liberties that don't effect those of the past or current.

Either a naught or an eleven. So far to the left that I come out the right, or so far to the right that I resemble the left (I prefer the former formulation and consider myself a rightie). This is under US politics, under European politics I would be about a 27, so far to the right that I mght be able to see the extreme right wing on a clear day from the heights of the pedestal I put myself on. I think just about all government is wrong, and people should be as free as possible baring the sole exception that enough government has to exist to prevent the destrution of society by violence.

I'd say a 4, using the standards of the modern American 2 party system. I agree, the political compass is much better. I don't recall for sure what I got, but I think it was around -4.75, -3.5 or something like that. Then I was able to proudly say that I had been equated to the likes of Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, and the Dalai Lama!
edit: Wow. Just took it again, and I got -7.5,-3.08! I'll attribute the change in the social scale to some random answer changes, but on the economic scale, that's way farther left than I was last time. And that was only about a month ago, so I don't know what caused that.

edit (again): Okay, maybe this thing is flawed slightly. For one thing, there's no neutral choice, so my answers change a little for things I don't feel too strongly either way about. But this time, I thought about all the questions a little more, and: -4.38, -4.77. Yeah, that's more like it.

Yeah, I'm trying to find out how left wing I truly am, but so far I can only compare myself to historical figures. But for perspective? I think the American Communist Party is a pinko joke! I am definitley more left-wing than Che Guevara, or any of the major anarchists. I also tend to be somewhat of a believer in memocide, which pushes me further to the left. So, I think that if I proposed killing all conservatives, then I would officially be the most leftist person, ever!!! :D

Why? Because you didn't fall where you wanted to? Whats the point of any test if you're going to immediately discount the results unless they're exactly what you have planned? The questions aren't biased, you just identify too much with a particular "party" that you're afraid of learning anything new about yourself. Dumbass.

But yeah its just a test, I was proposing that the linear political spectrum is retarded.

Use the grid with the x-axis being economic (negative values being socialist, and positive values being free-market) and the y-axis being level of government control (negative values being libertarian, and positive values being authoritarian) to describe your political leanings.

I'm a libertarian socialist by the way.

When you say Orthodox do you adhere that in a religious sense? I am trying to grasp what you mean by orthodox marxist.

No, because anyone who knows me knows I'm extreme, extreme, extreme right, and I wasn't nearly as far-right as I should have been. And, please don't call names.

No, because anyone who knows me knows I'm extreme, extreme, extreme right, and I wasn't nearly as far-right as I should have been.

though the political compass is defining left/right purely in terms of communism/neoliberalism. so if you don't unconditionally love corporations and think they should be allowed to do whatever they want, you won't wind up all the way to the right. however, this does appear to cause a slight leftward shift for people who otherwise are all in favor of wage labor and private ownership of the means of production but who don't think that capitalists can do no wrong.

did you post your score to my 'ns political compass' thread?

Anarchist and Marxist... arn't those kinda oxymoronic?
Not particuarly. Leninism and anarchism certainly are, but the same could be said of Leninism and Marxism. The only real difference between the two is that anarchists believe the state will magically vanish overnight after the revolution and Marxists believe it will start the process of being abolished after the revolution. Neither believes in strenghening it- that's a Leninist bastardisation of true Marxism.

Gues that the Democrats are about 6/7 and the Republicans 10/13 thus Moore about 5/6 (he is not really a lefty, just a doc. maker), more a very critical center guy and patriot.

I must be at 4/5.
