I am disgusted.

Disgusted by today's racist world. It has come to the point where I go for fish & chips at the local chippie and I will not be served because I am white. Pathetic. I'd serve black people if I ran a shop of some sort. Now I'm damned hungry. I hope the racist dies. Soon. So I can have fish & chips again.

Be disgusted with your individual racist; it doesn't mean everyone is.

Been there, done that several times here in Japan. I deal with it by taking my custom elsewhere and realising they who refuse my custom by reason of my apperance, only hurt themselves by loosing a very good potential customer.
Then cover your skin in black marker, and go back in if you need a fishy!
But seriously, I too dislike how racism seems to be such a one way thing. And this "positive discrimination" malarky irritates me too. I understand that something must be done if these people are being deliberately oppressed. But promoting them simply because they are Asian etc and NOT on their own merits is, to me, just as bad.

When you live in England, you become a victim of a lot of racism. Especially if you are white. Though racism towards blacks isn't unheard of, it's far more rare.

...that does not seem possible... can you link me to some studies?

To say that racism against whites is more common in England than racism against blacks is just plain wrong.

 Racism towards blacks (and various asians) "isn't unheard of"? WTF As a WASP dominated country you may occassionaly find local concenrations of non-white dominated areas, but to say there is a lot of racism dircted towards "whites" is silly. Grow up.

Just because there are MORE whites doesn't mean that reacism against blacks is more common. I very rarely see white kids in my area picking on the black ones, but vice verca, that's another story.
I think racism is forever going to be a problem because of our inherent dislike of the "unfamiliar" or "unknown". It's a sad fact. I live in England and I don't agree that anti-ethnic minority sentiment is "unheard of" but I am inclined to agree that victims of racism are only taken seriously if they're black or asian.

I wouldn't go as far as to say "there is a lot of racism directed towards 'whites'" in Britain, but do you not think your point about a "WASP-dominated country" could be the reason for anti-white sentiments? Because members of ethnic minorities feel disillusioned?

Exactly. I'm pretty sure if I said to my head of school that I was being bullied by a black guy for being white, he'd say I was lying, and I don't lie about serious things like that :P
For reference, I live in Kent, so racism may differ throughout the country.

The only time I've ever really been bothered by racism (when I was the victim of it, it always pisses me off to see it happen) was when I was in Japan. I saw a nice watch store and all of the signs were in English. There was a neat neon sign of an American dollar bill in the window. I walked in to peruse the wares and the man behind the counter leapt up from his chair and started screaming "NO GAJIN! GET OUT YANKEE!"
WTF? If you don't want whities coming in... why is everything in English?

Let this stand as an example of the fact that racism is a human problem, not just a white-against-black thing. I'd be willing to bet that deep down, every single human being, regardless of the color of THEIR skin, has a negative stereotype of at least one other racial group.

I had a nasty run-in w/a NeoNazi a few yrs back. He was actually Greek but it DOES NOT mean I have anything against Greece or Greeks.
There's too much "reverse" racism...too much of, beat up on the white guys cuz they did it first...
As a white male, I am the least likely to get a scholarship, least likely to get accepted into colledge, etc.
My insurence premiums are the highest of any other group.
I can't say "******" without getting my ass beat, but anyone else can say it or "cracker" and the administration turns the other cheek.
I would get called on hate crime for beating a black kid, but he would only get called for fighting.
I'm all for equality, but this isn't equality.
I can't say I've actually been discriminated against myself. Perhaps my ability to start anarchist revolutions has something to do with it.
