Anybody know? Anybody care? Anybody doesn't know where Hong Kong is?

I know where HK is. Surrounding me.
As for the elections, as I've only been here 7 weeks, I haven't the faintest idea what it means, other than that Beijing is happy with the outcome. Which probably means not good.
I like the Long-Haired guy. I'd have voted for him if I could.

i hate the long-haired guy. i would have strangled him if i could. at least beat some sense of order back into him.

Why?
Having a joke candidate voted in at least gives the papers something to write about. Plus who knows? Perhaps he might have some good ideas ;)
I see even though the British left 7 years ago, there's still a strong influence from them, or the Tory party at least.
I'm talking about the guy who was snapped with the Prostitute of course.
I love the Chinese euphanism for his jail sentence: "6 months re-education through labour". Not the British labour party I take it.

Don't remember exact number, but then the leftist DAB Party won the most seats, the Liberal Party next, and the Democratic Party coming third. Although the Democrats got more votes, due to the system and their errors of strategy, they lost in the grab of seats. But most notably is that we have three very and fiery aggressive pro-democrats in the Council, and elections scandals were plenty and entertaining. I dunno. It's gonna be a fun session of 4 years for the Council. Luckily for most part of those 4 years I hope to be out of Hong Kong.

I'm not familiar with your parties. Could you provide me with links to their websites or outline their key policies?

Dragons Bay, you do realise Lotringen and I are joking?

I'm actually quite good at world geography. Learning about other countries is something of a passion of mine. I doubt you could stump me on any country's location (even if for some I'm a little vague).

:-)

Hi, I'm Long Hair Leung, and I now have a seat in the Hong Kong Legislative Council.

I don't think it can be argued that I'm the most leftist member of the simulation: I want to turn Hong Kong into a welfare state, I want to end the war on drugs, I'm extremely socially tolerant, I want more protection for the working class, more regulation for business, and I will fight with you all against the Beijing Elite to ensure that Democracy is won for the people of Hong Kong!

The DABH and the Liberals are the most right-wing parties in Hong Kong: They're supported by the Chinese "Communist" Party, a right-wing government that wraps its propaganda in socialist rhetoric. In reality, the CCP lets foreign corporations work Chinese workers to death for next to no money, no right to organise and strike, and poor working conditions.

Is it any coincidence that social conservatives, ultra-nationalists, and the Big Business Elite that usurp control of the legislature's composition from the people of Hong Kong all back pro-Beijning candidates?

The Democrats a moderate left-liberal party that calls for democracy while being loyal to Beijing, the Frontier is more radical in its politics and less friendly towards Beijing, and me, while I'd like to see students re-enact the Tiananmen Square Massacre on PLA fascist goons, so you obviously know that I think very little of Beijing...

The democratic candidates won 62% of the vote and 18 of 30 seats in the legislature, while an independent with democratic leanings won 1 seat. The others went to fascist parties loyal to Beijing. Of the functional constituencies chosen by big business and lobby groups, the fascist parties won 23 of 30 seats while the pro-democracy parties won 7 of 30 seats. Thus, the people of Hong Kong had their will subverted by the elite.

Sounds pretty reactionary to me...
