Marie-Antoinette: "Let them eat cake."
Evita Peron-Kerry: "Let them go naked."

"Clothing is wonderful, but let them [the victims of hurricanes] go naked for a while, at least the kids," said Heinz Kerry, the wife of Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry.

Another gem from "if you disagree with my husband you're an idiot", Mrs. Marie-Antoinette Evita Peron-Kerry.

of course if you only pick wrotten cherries people will be inclined to chop down the tree

PARAGRAPH 1 instead of 2

Teresa Heinz Kerry, encouraging volunteers as they busily packed supplies Wednesday for hurricane relief efforts in the Caribbean, said she was concerned the effort was too focused on sending clothes instead of essentials like water and electric generators.

AND
2nd part of quote he didnt add
"Water is necessary, and then generators, and then food, and then clothes."

is it just me or is food more important than electricity?

and of course people are giving clothes, everyone has old clothes they don't wear anymore it's a lot easier and cheaper to dig through a closet than it is to go buy extra food.

It was no attempt to bash John Kerry, it's just funny.

And if Kerry manages to pull off a miracle and win the election, at least there will be a bright side. When foreign leaders disagree with John, Evita can call them an idiot in five different languages.

what?

i wasn't bashing anyone, i was just saying that the order in which she said things, water, generator, food then clothes seems a little odd as to me, food is more important than electricity.

Why does it look like this is much of a fiction as the original one about Marie Antoinette?

It seems very strange to see Republicans (for that I assume you are) adopting the rhetoric of the French Revolution...

Water is most essential of all. Having electricity allows you to clean things, stay warm (or avoid overheating - heat stroke can be a real problem), etc. Food is important, but you can go without it for a surprisingly long while if you have water and shelter.

what? i'm aware that he got owned. just because i don't rub it in doesn't mean that i'm blind or don't pay attention.

not caring though... yeah, this whole american election has had both parties acting like idiotitc children (not just kids, but really dumb ones) so i don't care anymore. it would be nice if kerry won because then martin probably wouldn't have a missile shield project to contribute to, which is excellent news for me and the rest of canadians.

You assume wrong. I'm not "adopting" anyone's rhetoric, I just think EPK (Evita Peron-Kerry) is a horrible person. Her comments show her for what she is: a EUro-centric, blue-blooded, liberal New England aristocrat.

And you can rest even easier, because you don't have a vote for ANYONE in the U.S.

Besides, Kerry's campaign is in BIG trouble right now. I think he's going to lose the election.

It was sarcasm, idiot. Look at my previous posts in this forum. If I make a serious post, I include the entire quote and context. And if I was trying to skew the quote, why would I post a link?

wrong, the decision of president of the united states effects EVERY country as the president is also in control of FOREIGN POLICY of the united states, it would obviously be much more fair if the ENTIRE world voted for president of the united states, but of course thats a ludicrous idea. but implying it doesnt matter to her is just as asinine

I agree, Kerry's campaign is not going to great at the moment. However in the last few days he seems to be getting his message out. I won't argue he had a terrible Aug. However there is still lots of time to turn this around. This election I believe will be won or lost in the debates.

OK, so I want a say in the Prime Minister of Canada. After all, he controls foreign policy for Canada, and that effects me, right? In fact, the foreign policy of every nation effects every other nation, so the whole world should vote for the the leader of every country.

Read the polls, and weep, child.

and the united states is the self declared police of the world and no one can do shit without the decision of the US and the US does whatrever it wants without comnsent or otherwise. how much stuff has canada taken sole action in and started stuff? same with australia and britain. i dont recall any of them being the self-declared world police.

Nah, the debates are nothing but political theater. They won't matter a whit.

By my current estimate, Bush gets around 300 electoral votes (270 are needed to win). Kerry's ship is sinking, and I don't see how he's gonna bail it out in the next 45 days.

Oh I wouldn't count on that, Reagan won based on the debates. Don't underestimate them, many elections have been won or lost in the debates. Some say Bush 41 lost because of the debates too. Then again who could go toe to toe with a master speaker like Clinton, love him or hate him, no one can deny Clinton is a master when it comes to public speaking/debating. We have yet to see Kerry go toe to toe with Bush, it can and usually does make a difference.
