Wanna know what I think is funny?

How every single thread invariably descends into Bush v. Kerry hell.

How do you guys always seem to do that?

For example:

Person #1: I like strawberry jam over blueberry jam.

Person #2: Well, obviously, blueberry jam is BETTER

Person #1: Oh yeah, well you won't HAVE any jam at all if Bush is reelected!

Person #1: Well, at least Bush won't give it away for free, like Kerry!

So, I struggled to find a way to post a thread that was next to impossible to lead into Bush v. Kerry...I've come to the conclusion that it may be impossible.

Here's the closest I could come up with:

Which do you like better, the chicken or the fish on an airplane?

How many posts do you think it will take to get to B v. K?

Bush is more of a chicken than Kerry!

Kerry is more of a chicken than Bush!

(chicken meaning coward)

well if bush gets elected there wont be airplanes because we will be broke and he will outlaw pretzels on planes

It's not just these guys. It's any forum that has a political discussion section... either Bush v Kerry, or, 'I hate/why do you hate the USA?' threads. It's getting extremely tedious :(.

Well I have no doubt that Bush eats chicken because he's a Texas hick, Kerry would eat fish because he has way more class.

the chicken (bush) would give you salmonella and the fish (kerry) would give you mercury poisoning. I say take the free drinks (Nader) and join the party

ahhhh....but you are all missing one very important point:


All you did was take the word "chicken" and add it to the word "Bush" or "Kerry". That is NOT a debate descending into another debate.

It is just a word combination.

You must first debate the original issue and find a way to LEAD it into Bush v. Kerry. So far, you have not.

The fish is way better on an airplane than the chicken. The chicken is never fresh when it's taken out and heated. There's always the chance that salmonella is still there.

Much like Kerry is way better than Bush. With Bush it's re-heated policies from his father and there's always chance there's salmonella (cheney) still there.

I am a vegetarian (liberal)

I wouldn't eat chicken (Bush) or fish(Kerry) on an airplane because they have all these pollutants (scary, destructive policies) and are very bad for you (personally and your country).

The question is silly! The options are pretty vague. It does not state what type of fish it is.
Thats just like asking "who would you rather have as president, George Bush or a Democrat?" You don't really know what you're choosing.

But as for me? It's a simple choice,I dont like fish,so I wouldnt vote Bush..err, I mean choose Bushimeanfish.(Sorry, they both end with -sh,its confusing me)

But if someone would be so stupid to ask me if I want fish or chicken,then id ask if they have any vegetarian food. I just dont think a two-different-meals system is very democratic. There should be more to choose from!

But this doesnt really matter to me,im from Norway,we dont have planes here ;)

Oh, you deluded person. Don't you realize that whatever side wins, the other will claim that they won. And then there will be the inevitable "Bush/Kerry's new ______________ policy is terrible, Kerry/Bush would have done a much better job. Then one of our pet Nazis will say something about Jews rigging the election and controlling the President, and it'll all go to hell.
