Ok, for a change of pace, let's look at the country in which we each live, and instead of finding something good or bad to say about our neighbours, let's pick through our trash.

Here's the challenge, say 10 things you like and 10 things you dislike about the nation in which you live. Remember, if you post 10 good things, you MUST post 10 bad things and vice versa.

10 Reasons why I like Canada

Hockey!! Hockey night in Canada; the Toronto Maple Leafs
Multi-party system
Universal healthcare
Decent education system
Good standard of living
Our peaceful foreign policy
Tim Hortens
Our currency is pretty
We don't have the Digital Millenium Act, the Patriot Act, the RIAA...
Gay marriage is legal here

10 Reasons why I dislike Canada

The fact that Ottawa is allowed to exist
The city of Ottawa being the capital
The fact that the freakin' Quebecers get special status because they speak French
The freakin' Liberals still being in power (I want NDP in charge)
The federal government made it possible for the Ottawa Senators to exist
Adrianne Clarkson gets a 15 million dollar budget and there isn't enough money for schools
Canadian winters suck!
Alberta - freakin' rednecks!! :headbang:
The queen is still on our money!
Our leader is an asshole!

10 Reasons why I like Canada

Hockey!! Hockey night in Canada; the Boston Bruins (Leafs are losers since 67, and most of the players on the bruins - including the great bobby O - are canadian anyway :p )
Multi-party system
Universal healthcare
Decent education system
Good standard of living
Our peaceful foreign policy
Tim Hortons maple dip donuts and coffee that puts Krispy to shame
Our currency is pretty
We don't have the Digital Millenium Act, the Patriot Act, the RIAA...
Gay marriage is legal here and Pot is on the way

10 Reasons why I dislike Canada

No Treaties and we are constantly stomped on by Natives
We are pushovers when other countries (ussually the US) impose sanctions or force us into political situations
The fact that the freakin' Quebecers get special status because they speak French
The fact that government is based almost entirely on two Provinces opinions - and that those two provinces have very different views from western and eastern canada as far as who gets what.
The federal government didnt make it possible for the Qubec Nordiques to exist
Adrianne Clarkson gets a 15 million dollar budget and there isn't enough money for schools
Canadian winters suck in Vancouver because even though we have whistler we dont get a season change!
Ralph Klein - freakin' redneck with no regard for the environment (not Albertans - i lived there for a few years, they are the same as every one else!!
The queen is still on our money!
Bill Mulrooney (though considering what he did for the US they might have him on the other list)

I borrowed your list since much of it was the same.

BTW - i want you all to know that i do like the US and its citizens, just not everything about it thats all.

Ten Reasons Why I Dislike America
1. The Midwest is safe and all, but sometimes it gets boring.
2. When you are an American you get a lot of flames aimed at you on this forum.

5. Oprah
6. Britney Spears
7. Hilary Duff
8. Howard Stern
9. My science teacher
10. There are a lot of tornados in the Midwest, lots of hurricanes down South, and lots of earthquakes in California.

I didn't mean to offend anyone. I was just referring to the countries north and south of the United States.

Ten Reasons Why I Dislike America
8. Howard Stern

You don't like Howard Stern? Well, some don't I realize. Whether or not you like him, you should at least support him. He is this "generation's" Larry Flynt. Howard is the pinnacle of free speech. If the FCC and the Bush goon squad ousts him, citizens will probably be next.

Yeah, but Stern will never be as funny as Opie and Anthony were before they got fired for sponsoring the "sex for sam" contest where they had a couple fuck in a cathedral in NY.

6. Political Correctness
7. The position of Governor General and her obscene spending
8. Unions that abuse their powers (like the Montreal union who blocked some roads to protest over 2% pay raise while negociations were still occuring)
9. Sponsorship scandal
10. Those fired for stealing money during the sponsorship scandal who are suing the government because their reputation is tarnished.
(I mean, they stole huge amount money, were fired for it but it's not fair because the government shouldn't have said it in public. They fear they will not find work again. I hope they don't find work again and the public has a right to know where is money is going.)
