Another "fun" poll...which temperature is worse?

Which bothers you worst, being too hot, or too cold?

For me it's being cold. I chill easily, before most people, and I suspect the cold would be a threat to my life before it would be to others. Hell, for me, is something I imagine as being absolute zero FROZEN! ;-)

For someone like me, who chills so easily, few pleasures are comparable to stepping outside, after being in too much air conditioning, and it's 90 degrees outside. The feeling of warmth flooding back into my body when that hot air hits is just about the most wonderful feeling in the world. :-)

I like them both, actually. It's the middle, tepid, lukewarm, convenient comfort-zone that I despise. You don't feel alive in that kind of air.

when it's too hot, you can always go into the A.C. but too cold lasts a long time. you're numbb afterwards for like an hour.

Overheating is bad for your brain. Of course, if you never use it, heat won't be a problem...

What really bothers me is the high heat combined with high humidity. Heat alone is no problem. Being cold doesn't really bother me until it gets to a really, really low temp. I actually enjoy chilly weather down to about 30 degrees fahrenheit, and below that it's okay, but not enjoyable.

Even the high humidity doesn't bother me all that much, when it's hot. Being here in the South is perfect for me, for that reason. The only unfortunate thing about it is, in the winter, that same humidity means the wind will slice you like a knife--even before the temperature gets to freezing! BRRRRR...

It depends on what you have at your disposal. If you are out in the elements and limited with just a backpack then heat will always be worst. Mainly because with the cold you can always add more layers or have a better suit for such. When you are out in the heat there is not anything you can do to keep cool in certain situations. My personal experience was -47 cold and as long as you keep something over your mouth and eyes and have good cold weather gear you will survive. In 125+ heat it was overbearing even if your stark naked with shade or not, you really feel like you are cooking.

For me, it is extreme heat, especially if accompanied by high humidity. If it's cold, you can always put on another jacket/sweater. But if you're naked and it's still too hot, where can you go from there? (I'm assuming you're not in a climate-controlled situation.)

You're in the South? Where? I grew up in Houston, Texas, and never had a problem with cold winds, but mowing my lawn for two hours when the temp was 105 and the relative humidity was 110 totally turned me off. It's so damn humid your sweat won't evaporate so it does nothing to cool you.

In Texas the humidity isn't as bad as it is in the Southeast, in areas like Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi, and that may spare you the cold wind thing. You're very lucky not to have to deal with it! When that cold, humid wind hits you (and God forbid it be misting; that just makes it worse), it's the most horrible thing in the world! I have to walk outside a lot, year-round, and for me it's a lot worse to be walking in that awful wind.

I lived in San Antonio for a year, and thought they had the best weather I had ever, EVER experienced. Christmas that year...70 F outside. The morning of Christmas Eve...guess what we got instead of a snowstorm? A dust storm! I was in Heaven. ;-)

BTW, I just noticed...don't know how I did it, but I somehow made "too hot" red, and "too cold" blue. ;-)

I am wondering if the cold is abnormally bad for me. I tend to get frostnip a lot faster than other people. And once, I had to have surgery and after only 1 hour came out of the OR with hypothermia! And I wasn't even fully anesthetized or anything. I NEVER want to feel that cold again...it's very freaky when they start to warm you up again, and your skin is already warm, but you're shivering violently and you can't stop.

True, but if it's too cold you can put on a ton of clothes, while you can take everything off if it's too hot and stil melt outside.

And standing in the sun in the summer gives me a headache. Not to mention burns if I stay in the sun for more than 20 minutes :(
